Can anyone help?? I don't know what to do, my hair is so flat. I finally decided to relax my hair after some months, Up until Sunday, I've been with out a relaxer since April or so. I used PCJ smoothe roots on Sunday and I am pleased with my results. My hair is healthy and strong, but it has no body, It's not oily or limp, but it won't do anything I want it to do. Can anyone offer some tips?? /images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Yeah my hair is always very flat after a relaxer but the first wash takes care of that.

P.S. Happy belated birthday, Adrienne!

I agree with everyone else. Also cutting back on your oils might help. I only use a small amount of oil on the ends of my hair while it's wet. Once my hair dries, any extra oil is going to make it limp, flat, and stringy. Rollersets also give the hair more body and movement than using a curling iron.

How long did you leave it in for. The last relaxer I got with Affirm mild. It took 3-4 weeks for my hair to not lay so flat on my head and the curls to not fall after I set it. It was so bizarre. I'm thinking it was the relaxer or how long it was left in. I know it was about 15 minutes. I may have to stick with 10 minutes. It shouldn't take 3-4 weeks for it to not look like a "fresh" relaxer..lol

Elasta QP bodifying shampoo does wonders for me. I use it the day after my relaxer coz my hair just lays there if I don't. I also use Nexxus Headress leave in with a lil castor oil in it -- plumps those strands right up.

my fiend has thin hair. she bends over and combs her hair in the opposite direction tha tit grows in(it lifts the roots of the hair up off of the scalp). then she gets a big tooth comb and combs it back down...voila! instant body!

/images/graemlins/look.gif I think I may have left mine on too long Faith, 30 mins. /images/graemlins/wallbash.gif , but I figured that since I my hair was almost virgin, and I was using a children's relaxer it was ok. /images/graemlins/ohwell.gif
