((Thread update:http://www.longhaircareforum.com/showthread.php?t=341581))

Well today I was reading all the wet to dry threads and Im like heck to the no, I'd never to that! lol So I
washed and conditioned as usual, applied my leave in and serum, and dried loose under the dryer until 65 percent dry in the back and 80 percent dry in the front (around 7 minutes). So I'm about to blow dry and I told myself "What the H3ll, try it". So me being the big goofball I am, I flat iron a piece right in the front. WOW!!! That piece was really straight and moisturized so I went ahead and finished the rest of my hair. My hair was very moisturized and swanging!!!! I will never blow dry before flat ironing ever again!!!

** Oh yeah to minimize burning the scalp, I hit the roots with three quick clamps.

**This thread is part 2 to this one http://www.longhaircareforum.com/showthread.php?t=338625&highlight=

I am going to try this method soon. I was so sick of wasting time blow drying that I started just rollersetting to dry and only flat iron the roots sometimes. Thanks for posting this!

I just died.... Your hair is gooooooorgeous girl. Good to see you've fully committed to the rogue flat ironer's crew LOL.

I swear this is the only way I do it. And my hair is growing beautifully.

Ooooo, i want to try this so baaaadddd!! I've been reading all the threads too. I just don't trust my flat iron. Its kind of old -- bought it in 2004 I think. Its a jilbere but I'm not even sure what type it is. Does it HAVE to be ceramic and ionic to work? I'm gotta budget for a new one so I can try this out.

I wont touch an iron that is not ceramic, ionic, tourmaline lol (bad experience in the past, had MBL brittle hair lol). I would honestly suggest using a quality iron that you are comfortable with no matter how you use your iron:yep:

Girl go do it, u know u want to!!!!

I have been a bad girl! My stylist relaxed, blow dried, and flat ironed my hair Friday and I re-did my hair today. My hair looked heavy and I had so many hard spots. I was feigning to neutralize and style. lol

Sweetie, I dont even know if its safe for me:lachen:
But really though, if you style your hair and it feels moisturized, your doing something right!!! My hair feels sooo good! Try it and if you don't like it, just dont do it again:lachen:

Saaaay word, Gym you're in on this too LOL. Man we're really bad I influences, but seriously for me if it ain't broke......

For the posters that asked: This can be done on fine hair, my hair is a fine 4 texture. And I would ONLY do this with a ceramic iron - really you should be using one anyways but that's another thread.

LOL @ gym, I JUST finished my hair thinking that using a tad bit of shea butter and carrot oil to seal before drying was a GREAT idea..... Again if in ain't broke.... So now back in the shower I go!

So lemme get this right; You sat under the dryer for about 7 minutes after adding your leave-in and serum, then flat ironed and got those results?!?!?!? You sooooo have to tell me what exact products you used and how many weeks post are you.

Well Im 2 days post lol I had to wash because my stylist left me with hard spots.
I neutralized with ORS and then clarified with some Giovanni I had laying around. I then shampooed with Mizani bodifying (wonderful and moisturizing). I skipped the protein cause my stylist gave me a reconstructor. I DC'd for 20 mins with heat using GVP Matrix Balm. I used GVP Paul Mitchell the Conditoner and a leave in and the serum I used was GVP Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum.

Hey Foxie!

I haven't sat under the dryer in forever. I have found that flat ironing has been better for my hair and my life. My scalp is thanking me so much and my hair quality even with being relaxed and color treated, is excellent.

Yeah, just leave your hair a little damp. The front of my hair came out the best because it was not as wet as the back. Most ladies air dry first.
