Rosie, you can buy kinky human hair you know. I am not sure how it will look though, I mean clip in kinky hair.

I'm natural and I plan on wearing it. I have one in now but it's too smooth so I plan on getting some kinky straight hair and putting in 1 row. You would have to flatiron though to match better...maybe a "soft" press.

Do either of you know of any inexpensive hair brands that look realistic? The only good kinky hair brand I know costs $100. :ohwell:

Zury has some synthetic one that is not bad...I have that one in now and it cost me $15CAD. Which brand costs $100? I can't seem to find a site that sells good quality kinky straight hair..hmm.

Thanks. Let me see if I can find the site. Okay, it's Bohyme and the weave is Brazilian wave.

Nice job OP. I have been wearing my hair with a half wig. I love it. Instant weave and it looks natural on me.

Faith and Rosie- I made some clip ins with Kinky Straight Hair - I got the hair fron His and Hers- it's not EPRT or anything but it looks decent to me:look:

I have two rows clipped in- hopefully you can see the texture, its not silky or shiny like most track/weaving hair

This is the same style from the front

SelfStyled - Looks great. Some on BHM.com were saying that brand from hisandhers was not good. Oh and what is EPRT?

Rosie - Thanks for the info.

I used to make those two years ago. I bought the clips somewhere online and I used the Beverly Johnson hair. People thought it was my hair. My hair was always on the long side, but these made it so full! I've always wanted full, thick hair.

They were so much fun! I still have a ton of clips. Maybe I'll make some more clip on hair.

I keep looking at your pic trying to spot the extension part. Is the shot of the back of your head the extension part or is it all blended? It looks so real. I ordered some tonight can't wait to get it.

The back that is hanging down are the 2 rows of tracks clipped in. What did you end up ordering? Make sure to post pictures.

I've asked this question over and OFTEN: How do you attach the clip-ins to cornrowed hair? I know one of the ladies here, cornrows her hair like she's going to sew-in the extensions. Instead of sewing the extensions, she attaches the clip-ins to her cornrows.

I have the hair and the clips but I would prefer to cornrow my hair, rather than attaching the clip-ins to my loose hair. I want like the benefits of a sew-in without the possible damage.

Thanks :)

I ordered the Hisandher kinky straight and I got it today. They were fast. Anywho, I love the texture it fits my hair when I flatiron BUT the color is not as dark as I thought it would be. I got 1B and it's still lighter than my hair yet when I get other 1B it's a closer match to my hair..boo. I don't know if I should just leave it be or try and dye it. The problem is I may dye it and it may then be darker than my hair...oy. I will post pics as soon as I can.

Oh and I decided I'm not a big fan of the clips. I prefer to sleep without messing my style most days and I can't because of the clips. So I plan on just cornrowing one small row and attaching one track. I will redo this row/track 1x/week so it won't be tight at all.

Hello Ladies,

I don't want to be long winded but I have great news... I purchased 1 pack of Outré Indian Remy human hair/ loose curl or wet N Wavy. I did so much research on clip on extensions that I figured I would make my own because purchasing with the clips already attached is extremely to expensive for me. I purchased some black wig clips from Sallys and measured my head. Nape area, Ear to Ear and temple to temple and cut the hair. I also made two strips for the side crown area. I used sewing thread for weaving and WoW it looks natural.

I'm sorry for going in-depth above but I wanted to let you ladies know the Outré hair is fabulous and the 1b color is on point so I hope that helps.

I'm so excited about wearing the extensions as a protective style but I just hope they don't break my hair cause I am having sooo much fun... :) wish me luck and thanks for all the knowledge and information you guys share... Nothing but love!!!!
