Beautiful hair!!!! I feel you on that whole salon thing. Its not worth spending all that money if you're going to have a stylist you don't like.

Your hair is very pretty. I know what you mean about stylist being rough with your hair, I stopped going to one for that same reason.

Pretty! You have alot of hair...and toilet paper. Gimme your reggie and let me borrow a roll of TP :)

LMAO I was thinking the same thing! (mental note: gotta buy some TP this afternoon, just ran out this morning)

LaLaa, despite her unnecessary roughness I must say your hair looks absolutely gorgeous. I love the spiral curls. Do you have layers? Great job!

I'm shy, so I usually don't post much, but I love reading you beautiful ladies posts and getting new tips and advice.....I introduced myself around New Years, but still was too shy to post much, since then, lol....I know I know....I better get out of that. I really enjoy you guys here at LHCF :yep:

Beautiful hair... I'm loving the curls. What's your regi???
I deep condition 1-2 times a week with hairveda's stirnillah conditioner(hope I spelled that right), I switch back and forth between washing my hair every 3 days to every 2 weeks....I never go pass 2 weeks. I use CON shampoo(green label bottle), I prepoo with Dr. Hausk's neem oil for 30 mins and co wash with giovanni tea tree conditioner or V05 strawberries and cream whenever I'm not using shampoo. I use hydrathermals naturals growth moisturizing lotion every other day for moisture or just when needed and seal with my oil of choice(usually bhringh....awww heck...I can't spell it, lol...but its and indian oil I love using. I have to admit you guys....my regimen is never set in gold....I switch it up quite a bit....usually because I've read something on here and want to try it out:yep:

I have to admit tho', I'm a bit of a product junkie and have been using ayurveda powders by mixing them in with my conditioners for co washes. I've been doing this for like a month now and have noticed a very big difference with the strength and shine of my hair: I use shikaki powder, brahmi powder and neem powder.

looks great. What was your starting point? I love your length. How long do you want to go?

I understand about the rough handling. I love Dominican blowouts but can only do them sparingly.

My hair had fallen out bad between '06 to '07....so I started at APL damaged, dry, brittle and weak hair. It was broken off badly...but when I became pregnant with my 2nd son in '07....it started growing...damaged but started back growing none the least. By the beginning of '08....I began researching how to retain my new length and how to care for my hair. It had reached bra strap then, but looked a hot mess. So in March of '08, I found this hair site among many others and begin caring for my hair like crazy....it reached waist length by the end of '08....I trimmed it a little under bra strap and here I am now at mid back....I think, lol. Here a pic of my hair when I first started my journey.

No, lol...to be quite honest....my hair is very uneven....it is like shoulder length in the front and my back always grows soo much faster than the front of my hair. My hair is just shorter in some places than others. I hate that....it is my dream to have even hair some day.

I just wanted to add that I think that the fact that I usually keep my hair in a protective style, mix coconut oil and peppermint oil in my conditioners had a lot to do with the health and growth of my hair, as well. I never knew that my hair could grow pass my bra strap, until I started my hair care journey. Thanks again ladies for all of the feedback and compliments :)

Very pretty hair.

I know what you mean about the rough handling; no matter how much you grimace and say 'ouch', the stylist keeps bouncing your head around like a tetherball.

I use ayurveda powders as water only pastes then rinse out with conditioner. Do you find the powders to be just as effective when mixed with conditioner?

I just wanted to share my progress, since New years with you wonderful ladies. Today I went to the salon and must say, that I see why it took me darn near 8 years to visit a salon again. The stylist was rough with my hair and darn near pulled my brains out, lol.....I just heard my hair snapping all of the place when she used the blow dryer and combed it out. It came out pretty good though when she was done, in spite of all of the rough handling.....here are my pics for a hair update. Needless to say, I still won't be going to the salon often until I find a stylist who can be more gentle with my hair, lol(I mean, my goodness!)

I HATE that snapping noise!

The other day someone was playing in my twists and I had some strands that apparently 'hugged' other strands crossing the part and WHOA....All I heard was snap, crackle, pop! I got up so fast and pretended to have to do something else. I mean, when someone feels that strand, why don't they just stop? (assuming they feel it, see it or know it's there). It's the same thing when I go to the salon to get my hair flat twisted. Please tell my WHY does the stylist feel the need to rip out or break the strand of hair that crossed over? :wallbash::wallbash::wallbash:

This is my BIG time hair pet peeve? what's yours?
