Okay everyone. I used the Affirm Lye Mild and I loved it(Pics in Album3, same pw is sig.). I also decided to do a black rinse (to get rid of that horrible rusty brown, ugh!). I like the results overall, esp. my rinse /images/graemlins/love.gif. I'm just a little afraid because this is the lenth I can't seem to get my hair past now. I'm going go for my goals! What do you all think? I welcome your input. I need your help to do this!/images/graemlins/look.gif

Your hair looks great. That pic showing the front view where you say you used little heat is not puffy hair. I will have to take a pic and show you some puffy hair /images/graemlins/rofl.gif

Again, your hair looks great. /images/graemlins/up.gif /images/graemlins/up.gif /images/graemlins/up.gif

Very nice! /images/graemlins/smile.gif I really like the length of your hair...it's so long in the front and then you look at the back and it's even longer. Very pretty! Keep up the good growth! /images/graemlins/antlers.gif

Thank you so much everyone!/images/graemlins/weird.gif You don't know how much your kind words mean. I'm glad I'm off to a good start. It gives me even more hope. I'm not going to give up this time. Huggette, I think I will take your advice and let my Mommy give me a trim just to even it a little /images/graemlins/smile.gifAnd I promise I won't call it poofy anymore (have to speak positive about the hair /images/graemlins/rosebud.gif)

Healthy Hair Quest..
Your hair is getting off to a great start! My I suggest you take your time, do your research and most importantly, get to know and LOVE your hair.

Quote from Songbyrd517:"I'm just a little afraid because this is the lenth I can't seem to get my hair past now."

This is your threshold length? Or has your hair gotten longer before?
I understand your nervousness. I'm at my general threshold and approaching my longest point(achieved ONLY when I was pregnant 2 years ago!). Thanks to the information I've gained here. I'll begin my progression toward healthy long hair!

Best wishes to you!

Thank you so much for your knid words! Maybe we can be growing buddies...
My hair has been longer before, but now that I'm trying to grow it out to waist-length ultimately, I having problems getting it past here /images/graemlins/frown.gif. I'm going to try the cayenne and olive oil though /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Your hair is off to a great start! It really looks good. And I agree, a good trim will only aid your progress in achieving length. /images/graemlins/up.gif

Love yourself first!
I agree!! Your hair is off to a great start. I would also consider maybe trimming the back as well. You will see you'll have more body when you do! I think I am going to consider getting a small trim for my uneven ends as well. Now we know how to care for them properly! /images/graemlins/clap.gif
