Wow I'm surprised you did this. It looks very pretty, but I thought you didn't want any chemicals on your hair anymore

Anyway I'm glad there's so many alternatives for us now, not just relaxers. I'd be too scared of the hair not reverting back to its former state to try something like that. I'd rather die than transition again LOL

Keep us posted on your progress! :D

I used to be super militant about that stuff. Not so much anymore. Especially since I've found some natural organic products are just as harmful if not more harmful than chemicals. I figured there would be no harm in just trying it once. It's nothing permanent unlike like a relaxer. So I was comfortable with my decision. Plus, I was really curious about it. That's not always a good thing, but whatever. I'm not endorsing that anyone do it. I'm exposing the good, bad, and ugly about it. No secrets. The company says it's natural and organic and I'm saying it's really not. I honestly don't know if I will do it again. Obviously I'm always looking for more natural/healthy alternatives but every once in awhile I get all curious when those bandwagons come around. I'm a sucker for a happy hair ending.

I plan on getting this done at some point, and this is my only concern.

Me too!! No militancy here, just a desire for healthy beautiful hair. Relaxers don't agree with me. I'm glad you took a step out there to experiment with this technique, and that you are taking the time to share your results with us :yep:

So BTW, how did you :sleep2: :scratchch ?

 This :sleep2: technique question reminds me of back-in-the-day, after a trip to the salon (no satin bonnets) I would come home and have to sleep with my face on hands to preserve my hair style!

Well, it's temporary and it's suppose to drastically improve the health of the hair strand and it was free... so I thought why not. I would never get a relaxer or texturizer or anything permanent even if it was free. I saw no harm in trying it once. Seriously don't know if I would try it again. In my life I have a tendency to shock people and change my mind about things quite easily once I get more info. I am very straight up about it though. I'm not encouraging people to do it I don't even know if I would recommend it. I guess when I first started my natural hair journey and I was getting schooled on all the unethical practices in the hair care industry I was disturbed to the point where I became militant. Now I just know that I have to be viligant in my research and decide for myself what I will and will not use instead of just picking something up in the drugstore. I think that's the key. Plus how can I make a credible judgment about a product or service if I haven't tried it myself. Trust me I am looking for something bad to say about keratin treatments. I'm looking for more organic natural techniques. I'm always looking. I expose everything on my blog. I am not a spokesperson, I am not a sales person. I'm just a curious woman trying to be more conscious about the world I live in and share what I've learned.

Good for you, Southern Tease. I'm glad you tried the product for yourself and determined your like/dislike for this product based on trying it yourself.

Your hair looks so thick and fab! But I really liked your natural curls better! That does seem very pricey and scary! I'll live vicariously through you lol.

I don't like my hair this bone straight I like body and versatility. I love my natural hair but I like to change it up too. Variety is the spice of life. Thanks though!

Your hair looks AWESOME, but im still sticking to my reg BKT - i was out in less than three hours, they did not pass the iron no 6xs (that is just too much) and you know the scissors didnt come no where near my head - lol. Thanks for posting pics! i hope you end up happy with the service.

Has anybody discovered the secret to sleeping without getting crimps or dents in the hair? I'd like to try this, but I sleep wild!

Whoa!!!!! Your hair looks fantastic! Keep us informed about the long term results. Its hard to believe that a protein treatment could make your hair so straight. Very curious to know how your hair will react after that first shampoo...

No, not me. It was actually too silky to wrap so I just let it hang and put a scarf on top. I had to smooth it out the next day.....but I used the 24 hour formula (Lasio) not the 72 hour one. I am not sure how I would handle my hair for 72 hours:perplexed

I did. I was trying to be all careful and loose --just wrapped using my Jilbere but after the first day I used my Denman brush and it was all good. No indentations.

Thanks and Good! I like to shock people. It's what I do.
