Cleaning Products in MOTIONS PRODUCTS?!?!

Okay. First off let me start off by saying that my "kitchen" and nape area looks a hot mess. It was growing in nicely and evenly after my "fantasia cut" a year ago. The purpose of my cutting my hair so shortly was because it was damaged really bad and I just needed to start over. Long story short, now the ish is snaggly, broken off, etc. I got a a short bush in the back with about 3 strands of hair and its sad. It's been like this for a month now...and I could never figure out why. I don't use heat, excessive chemicals or anything. I treat my hair right! Thanks to the LHCF.

ANYWAY!!!!!!!!!!

My roommate rollerset my hair on Friday and I pulled out my Motions Foam Wrap Setting lotion and she was like, "i'm not using that...they use cleaning products or some ish in it and it made me and my friends hair break off."

I WAS LIKE OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SOooooo thats why my hair is breaking off like it is on the sides and the back! And it makes sense to me. Every since I started using it...my kitchen has started to fall out and just look a hot mess. Has anyone else heard of this? Does anyone else use this product? I really like Motions (not the entire line) Wrap Foam Setting Lotion because it really does make my curls hold longer and my hair doesn't come out hard and crispy like with other setting lotions. But damn.

That really broke my heart!

Kick'd To The Curb...

Motions Foaming Wrap (setting) Lotion

I have to admit, this setting lotion gave me some of the BEST roller sets ever! My hair responded very well to this product. I had a wonderful glossy finish on the strands, such flowing bounce & a marvelous hold! HOWEVER, I was not impressed with the "sticky" texture. I just figured that if this setting lotion could literally "stick" my fingers together, then it MUST have that same sticky, damaging aspect while on my hair. Because of that I chose not to use this product again.... but my roller sets were the BOOMMMMMBBBB!!!!

I never had a problem with breakage, but then again, I didn't use this product long enough for breakage to become an issue. Sorry that this is happening to u....

I feel the same way that Peachtree does about Motions Foaming Wrap Lotion. I only used it for a couple of rollersets back in 2004 and stopped using it. I didn't use it long enuff either to notice breakage yet. I couldn't handle the sticky substance on my hand, but it made my hair somewhat crispy. I prefer not using any type of setting lotion at all anymore for rollersets.

IIRC, Caramela cut her hair from bra strap to shoulder length because of the thinning caused by wrapping her hair with Motions Foam Wrap. :nono: I think she switched to Proclaim, but I'm not sure...

I don't know what they put in the Motions, but I've read a few horror stories about it and BB Pump It Up Foam Wrap on various hair boards.

A friend of mine who rollersets regularly really likes Straight Request Silky Milk. :yep:

I don't know if this will help but I use Fantasia IC Styling gel w/ sparkle lites as a setting lotion. I use a small and I do mean a small amount of the gel on each section of hair I am setting and I use this in conjunction with a leave-in conditioner and distilled water. This helps by not making my hair hard like many setting lotions I have tried. I hope you find something.

I tried this product once and of all the Motions products, I was very disappointed. I didn't like it AT ALL. It made my hair dry and crispy and this was with a braidout! I'm surprised that this product is made of such poor quality...
