I use or dime or nickel-sized amount of shampoo. Conditioner gets a handful or two.....and my hair drinks that right up!

I have never used a dime size or quarter size of anything in my head. Wait let me think. That Sabino Moisture Block I think I use a 50 cent piece size when I would do sections of my hair...naw no dimes, nickels, pennies or quarters here.

I use however much my hair needs. I just realized i wasn't using enough leave in lately anyway...

I use about a quarter size for leave-in conditioner when I wear my hair straightened. I also apply oil sparingly. Other than that, I use wayyy more than a dime sized amount.

IMO, the only time a dime sized amount of product is needed is when i'm gonna flatiron. other than that, i use whatever amount of product it takes for me to feel like every strand is covered.

I def use a handful of condish on my hair and any producsts. My hair sucks things up so I need some to be left on there to moisturize...i guess.

Nah, I'm really heavy handed and my hair is thin but it craves moisture - I don't use a dime size of anything...

I only go with "dime sized" when I use shampoo. Otherwise I use golf ball sized amounts... or really just however much I need.

Honey, I don't know the meaning of "dime-sized." I also get confused when I hear nickels, quarters, half dollars, or silver dollars. I tend to work better with at least some golf or tennis balls. My hair would cuss me out if I tried something less than that. I wouldn't even worry about it. Now, off to watch your video.

She took the words right outta my mouth... I have never been able to grasp this less is more method, I just go off if it feels like enough then it is... lol

OP, First of all LMFAO @ your siggie!

I have lots of hair. If I used a quarter sized amount of conditioner I'd be bald LOL Unless the conditioner has super slip it ain't gonna happen. Plus my hair is very dry so I need all the conditioner I can get.

I see those directions as a suggestion. Just like I see stop signs as a suggestion LOL

It depends on what I am using/doing...

If I am conditioning, I use more than a quarter size, as that small amount doesn't really do much for my hair. If I am using a moisturizer, then I use about a quarter size because I like my hair light and bouncy.

The way I see it is, even if I apply too much product (which I doubt because I don't consider myself heavy handed) at least my hair is getting what it needs.

I selected the 3rd option...

I use very small amounts of my leave in, Giovanni Direct, because a little goes a long way. I also use tiny amounts of my shea mix as a sealant because too much of it is not good for my hair.

But for cowashing, I make sure my hair is SATURATED with product, same thing as when I a DC.

From what I remember, a dime is a tiny coin so I am 100% sure I use more than a dime size of product all the time.

I use a generous amount of everything.

I used to skimp on oiling my hair... but my natural hair is not having it. It sucks up product - even oils! - like a sponge.

I go through about 24 oz of DC per month. - I really get my hair covered completely.

A bottle of shampoo would last me more than a year. - I use about 3 quarter sized amounts per wash.

15 oz of coconut oil should last me about 8 months. - On wash day I probably use a palm full. If I'm twisting my damp hair I use half of that. If I'm just oiling my hair without wetting it at all, then I use just a quarter size.

My hair is only 4 inches :wallbash:

It's going to cost an arm and a leg to take care of as it gets longer.

I use a lot of product...especially conditioners. That's why I only use cheapies for cowashes.

I remember when there were only ORS Paks instead of the bottle.I would use 4 packs per deep condition. Now I buy the bottle.

I use more than a dime size for conditioners ... I stop when my hair feels saturated, which could be more or less than a quater cup...for shampoos I use less -my shampoos outlast my cons...all the time....always has.... even before i began cowashing...:)

After trial and error, I have learned to use small amounts of certain products (Hydratherma Growth Lotion, CHI Silk Infusion). But for conditioners, I kill it!!! The more, the better, it seems. My hair loves it.

Don't know what "dime-sized" means. My hair drinks up everything. Especially when it comes to conditioner!

when i was relaxed i used a pea sized of moisturizer 2x a day. that was all i needed and my hair stayed moisturized. now that im natual and i wash and go everyday i use about a quater of leave in and a dime of sealant lol. im not havy handed with conditioner either, i dont think, because its not that serious. i just put enough on to work into my hair and then rinse out.
