These shampoo chairs look sooo comfy. I don't know where to find them though. I like how the stylists can stand behind the bowl and not have to contort their body:

Then again this style is nice, too. I'd want full length mirrors, hardwood floors and lots of light in the styling stations:

Clean lines:

I don't have pics....but i would have one big open space....no corners to walk around and doors to go through...everything would be out in the open...have u ever seen "why did i get married" when they were in Angelas salon? I thought that looked nice...

It would be a cross between a swank/girlie clothing boutique, hotel lobby and spa. I of think Jonathan Adler and Kelly Wearstler (of kwid) with stylish elements like full length mirrors in front of each station. I love how when I go to the salon they store their products etc. out of view so everything is "clean" and clean lines. I love partitions blocking the reception desk from the rest of the space...

^this is an example of the long mirrors in front of each station! and the shelving to hid products

yea something classy i like the first pics up top.

That salon that was in Why Did I get Married ive been to it used to be Nseya in the Midtown area. Now they have one salon in Buckhead...but anyway

they have like a water fountain type thing when you walk in very classy.

nice hard wood floors. I always like this look in salons.

I like the ideas in these threads. The salon I visit is sooooo tacky. The owner really thinks it looks good too.:nono:

She has multicolored mirrors and chairs, each station is a different color and the walls are red. Then she has these paintings on the wall that don't match or go with the decor.

I really don't like going there but I love my stylist. People don't realize that a lot of clients won't even step foot in your salon if it does not look right.

She's lucky I was with my stylist before this tacky looking place existed it's not something I would have walked into off of the street.

I would like to chime in. I love hair salons and haven't been there since I went natural.
Out of all the salons I've been to, two hair salons really made an impression on me.
Both of them had a spa mood
In the first one, you walk in, there are candles and a receptionist who take your name/ your coat, ask you to wait and whether you'd like a cup of tea , a beverage or water
I love the privacy of that hair salon because the washing area/ conditioning area was separated from the styling area.
The bathroom was nicely decorated too!
I also love the fact that we all had a chart stating what we did, scheduling my next appointment, which products I used etc.
She also had specials. For instance wednesdays was senior discount, fridays, students discounts, etc..

The second one also had a receptionist and you were given a locker and a robe
You also had complimentary beverage and depending on the service, fresh-baked cookies. For instance if you had a steam treatment, you had a biscotti or cookie.
for me, that made the experience so enjoyable and special. I was sad when i had to go home

I want it to look like this BUT minus those chairs, they look soooooo uncomfortable.
I want an in-home salon....and perhaps brighter lighting..
three styling stations with 2 or 3 Pibbs wall-mounted dryers to save space.

NYE side boob.
it'd be mostly white, with pops of black here and there.
and I'd rotate blown-up black-and-white images of consenting clients on the walls..if i wasn't so lazy i'd look up pictures to show what i'm talking about. :look:
