Mtg update

TRANSITION OVER! 11-22-14
Guys, you are on the right path for longer hair if u get mtg and use it on a regular basis. I've been on an up and down path. The stinky challenge helped grow my hair and I got b/ced by a stylist 3 weeks ago. My hair was 9.5 " and went to 7" then. it is now at 8" and I measured 1" of new growth. I am also having the craziest curl pattern in the front and thicker roots. I'm not crazy about the curl pattern, but I am able to deal with it until I fully relax again. I've successfully finished my no relaxer challenge and thanks to the mtg have gained some more inches to my hair. If anybody wants to try this mtg, I give it 2 thumbs up!
Thanks Koffie and others for the encouragement! :dance7:

Actually I got 1" in 2 weeks. In some places, my hair is 1.5" in the sides and 1" in front and back. My sides always grow faster than front and back, but now it is growing almost evenly all over. The stylist who cut my hair did not cut it evenly. I wash my hair daily and condition my hair deeply while I do this. My hair has never been happier! I hope this continues when I fully relax next month!

Congratulations!! I am happy for you and I am thinking about ordering the sample size of the MTG. The only thing is I am not sure how I will mask the smell because I have heard that it stinks to high heaven! I plan on applying the oil at night to my scalp and then wrapping it up. I am pretty sure that I will have to wash my hair weekly to get rid of the scent.

Congratulations Natrlchallenge!! That is awesome news and I am soo happy you are having positive results with MTG. I am also having great results. I'd also like to know your regimen, how have you been using it? I achieved approx. 1.5 inches in a month so I hope my speed catches up to yours
Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining at all!

I was trying to fight the debbil. I kept telling myself "You have Surge and are in braids!!" I can't help it! I have to order...right now. I want hair by graduation season. The braids have helped, but inches in weeks. I can't help it...Must order product immediately! The PJ is back in full effect.

Okay, so the avg is like 1" a month, right? Well, I'll take that! I get a measly .25-.5" a month on my own, so if this stuff works for me as well as it works for you guys, I could get 6" (with trims taken into account) by mid December.

Girl finally someone whose hair grows just as slowly as mine! I am always stunned when I would hear some of the ladies talking about 1 inch in a month. I am still debating as to whether I will give this stuff a try. With all the glowing testimonials, I may eventually break down and order it.

Candycane...

Gurl, My hair averages about .5" a month too, :( . However, last month, I was somewhere closet to .75" without any consistent usage so it'll be interesting to see what happens after 60 days of regular use.

I have some before pics as well as a fresh texturizer (HAD to do a corrective for this bushy mess) so I'll post the befores and afters when June rolls around.

Until then, Good luck ladies!

LaNecia, from your pic, it looks like you've got 1/4" from 10 days, right? Since you're texturized, I can't tell where the new growth demarcation line is. But I can definitely see the growth!

Classi, I think it's close to 1/4" inch, I'll measure toniht.

Bo....the product in question is the Shapley's Original M-T-G Oil. I apply to my scalp using a color applicator botle. I've been using it daily and CO Washing everyday to every other day.

It makes my hair really soft, I didn't like this after first but I've warmed up to it!

I ordered some today too. I think I will mix it with oil and apply it in the afternoons when I get home from work. That way the smell should have died down by bedtime (I'm sure my husband will appreciate that) and I won't smell like it at work. I will probably use some braid sheen or oil sheen in the mornings to further mask the smell.

This is what I do. Before I start cooking dinner, I oil my hair as I change my clothes. ABout 6pm.

So that by bedtime 11 pm, the smell has dissapated. Niether my pillows nore I smell of the bacon essence.

What can I do to cut the smell? It's hard when you have a husband that's sensitive to bad smells. I can't even put tea tree oil on because it's too strong for him.

Tea tree oil is too strong? You might be in trouble then. I plan on using peppermint to cut the smell down.

I just updated my album after 2 weeks of using my Sulfer8, Glovers, WGO, Dr. Miracles nape and temple gro balm, carrier oils, essential oils mixed with MTG concoction. I don't know if you can see any difference in my hair in terms of length, thickness or new growth. I measured my hair this morning and my hair is 4 inches. I am not sure if I measured it right and I have not measured my new growth before and after 2 weeks of using my concoction mixed with the MTG but I do see a difference. Let me know what you ladies think.

Thanks:)

ClassyEbonyGirl, it's kind of hard to tell in the pictures, but you're the best judge of any difference it's making. You grow, girl! :)
