I Didn't Let the Stylist Talk Me Into It

I posted a couple of weeks ago about the Aveda salon stylist who wanted to color my hair with a permanent hair color made by Aveda. I love my own, dark brown color (which has some natural auburn highlights in it) and the swatch of hair with the color she suggested does look pretty. She offered to color just a hidden portion of my hair so I could see how it worked with my relaxer chemicals.

It was scheduled for today and I decided not to have her do it. I told her I changed my mind. She was nice about it and said ok. My intuition and the stories I've read on this board told me to wait. I didn't feel excited about it, I felt anxious, which was telling me something. My hair is the healthiest it's been in my life and there is no hurry to experiment with it with additional chemicals for no reason. Plus, she is not experienced working with my hair type.

I still will come in one of these days to see her black clients' hair (she has two, I think) which she applies a permanent color to. Right now, I feel a great sense of relief. Just wanted to share...

When I read the original post you made about this, I knew it was only a matter of time before this post was coming . I did not think you would let temptation or uncertainty override your intuition, especially not with you hair :lachen:

Better safe than sorry. I'm glad that you didn't let her talk you into something that you might later regret.

Yeah, good for you! I sometimes get persuaded into stuff by stylists and end up regretting it later.

OT, Isis, can you please clean out your mailbox so I can drop you a line. Thx.

(Excuse me everyone, I just didn't want to start a whole thread just to say that. I hoped Isis might stop by a thread she started and see this. Thanks for your patience. )
