i found this sulfur solutions stuff in the BSS today.the ingredients look good and there is coal tar and menthol! best of all....NO PETROLEUM or MINERAL OIL :bouncy:

i put it on my scalp and it tingled...alot. i can definately see this promoting growth

interesting. what does coal tar and menthol do? isn't menthol an alcohol?

i did a quickie search and came across this website ( http://www.thewestminsterpractice.com/productsframe.asp?typeID=1 ) that says menthol acts as an anti-oxidant to reduce the rate of hair fall.

also, this site ( http://www.ballbeauty.com/gwebbice.htm ) says menthol is a natural scalp stimulator.

Hmm it comes in a slighty bigger jar than the Sulfur 8 & Glovers mane stuff, how much did u pay for it weave? If its near the same price as the Sulfur 8 I may get this.

The tingling is probably from the peppermint or the menthol. Let us know how it works for you.

Are you using anything else topically.....like MTG?

This does sounds promising...it looks like I can't find a vendor that sells it online though {Sheldeez did come up but I wasn't sure if it was the same product though because it didn't show any pictures}.

It's significantly higher online...{with shipping of course}...I will be looking out for this product in local stores instead...

no, i am not using anything on my scalp other than this. occasionally i put EVOO...but thats about it. surge isnt really cooperating for me anymore so hopefully this will help

also, make sure that if u buy anything other than the damage control its min oil/petroleum free (of you dont liek these ingredients). some of the products have those 2 ingredients.

nope. the leave in was the 1st thing i saw and it looked really good. but mineral oil was in the ingredients...not very high up, but it was still there

just about all of the products are the same price... $3.99 (out here anyway)

if anyone cant find it i wont mind picking it up and mailing it out for you...

I think you are thinking of Methanol...definitely an alcohol... but menthol isn't...

wish I had known about this B4 I bought the Sulfur buy Hollywood Beauty which has mineral oil & petroleum in it...but so does regular Sulfur 8 right?

yea, which was why i was so apprehensive about using it. the Glovers has mineral oil, and sulfer8 has min. oil and petroleum.... so i was really happy about stumbling into this product

I was thinking about buying the Softee Coconut Oil (hair & scalp conditioner)...but when I saw that it looked like grease...I didn't buy it. I'm too scared. I've come to realize that my hair does not like grease...ONCE AGAIN...so I only use oils.

Is this sulfur solutions stuff like hair grease or a hair oil? I know that some "grease" products melt when it touches your scalp and acts like a hair oil. Does this sulfur product act this way.

I plan on using this sulfur product(if I can) in my TROUBLED crown area. A couple of months ago I was only complaining about scab hair in my crown area...but now I have sooooo much breakage in my crown area that I really don't even know if I still have scab hair in my crown area or not. Now, I have a bunch of short broken off hairs in my crown area...and I need help.

I'm paying attention to the one that you have (Damage control anti-Dandruff Complex) and the Hair & Scalp Treatment Anti-Breakage formula. I see that both of them are for breakage. Which one should I get...that is if it acts like a hair oil and not grease.

seriously...it has a smell like a car. my boyfriend was there when i bought it and says it smells like motor oil...but i used it last night and in the morning the smell was gone, so its not a smell that will linger on you all day and scare little kids :lachen:

it doesnt have the consistiency of grease, its more a consistency of lemon meringue(yellow stuff in lemon meringue pie). its really hard to explain, it moves less stifly than JAM, but not like a liquid...its weird. lemon meringue was the closest thing i could come up with to describe it. but it doesnt sit on your scalp, it turns liquidy and absorbs into the scalp.
im not sure if the hair and scalp treatment is a grease... but i know the one i have isnt, i would compare it to an oil before comparing it to a grease.
