Plopping and I got pics in my album

I have been wanting to try this technique for a while but since wash n gos and my hair don't seem to agree I never tried it, until yesterday that is. I needed to wash my hair, and I had a reception to go to and I knew there was no way my hair would dry in time without heat, so I figured it was time to try plopping, and just take a hair clip just in case it flopped.

Thanks Lanecia, Mohair, Ayanapooh, & Dsylla

Belladonna, check out this site it explains plopping it really is a simple technique but it made all the difference in the outcome ;)

Natalied, I love the way it came out, I was a little worried that it would get bigger because normally my hair poofs out more than it did. When I was in my sister's car, the right side of my hair got a little bigger because the window was down and the air was just poofing my hair out, so I stayed in the mirror trying to even out both sides.

Sylver2, I used products in my hair. I used Black N Sassy Carribean leave in cream and Blue Duchess Gel Activator. I wish I could get a decent look with no products.

Very Nice!

I used to 'plop' my hair and I really did like the results. But I stopped cos I couldnt stand the shrinkage. (I used FOTE aloe vera gel)

I think I'm confused! So basically you're just twisting a shirt or towel around your head and letting it dry that way?

Gorgeous curls by the way!

Thank you. I was confused when I first saw it too and thought it would do absolutely nothing for me, glad I was wrong. My hair actually was not dry when I took off the towel, I had it on maybe 20 minutes as I got dressed. The purpose is to help create curl structure. When I did the exact same thing to my hair minus plopping, my hair dried a frizzy mess

Looks wonderful! I've never tried it though because I'm afraid of my hair getting snagged on the towel or t...also I can't imagine my hair fitting so that I can tie it into those two "knots."

OT--how long did it take you to do that gorgeous straw set? Did you start from the bottom or top? I did it oince YEARS ago and it was so hard to manneeuver around all the straws.
