Nice. I like "naked" hair too. Lately, I have been rinsing all of my conditioner out and just using about a quarter sized amount of EVOO as a leave in. "Naked" hair dries faster and feels so much better than hair loaded with a lot of product. Your hair is beautiful.
It does dry much faster. I love that. I'm thinking of just using a dime size amount of hair milk for each side of my head and some evoo for my wash n' go's now. Too bad i just got Kinky Kurly not long ago. I probably won't be using it again.

That's so true. I love when it dries fast :)
I'm gonna wash my hair tomorrow and wear it naked - I got inspired by this thread!

You should post pics :yep: About a month ago I started using less and less product in a quest to find a way to make my hair dry faster, and using just a little EVOO and very little conditioner (cone free) if any does the trick. It's so nice to have hair that actually dries in a reasonable amount of time, lol.

Thanks so much for the complements ladies!!! You guys are so sweet.

Pretty curls. :)

That is such a difference from last set of "naked hair" pictures. Have you been using different products since? I have noticed something similar with my "naked hair" depending on what I have been doing to it. If I have clarified/used shampoo in recent weeks, used gel, slacked with regular moisturizing and sealing with oil, or used heat, my "naked hair" looks like what yours did in the previous "naked hair" pictures. But if I have been co-washing 2-3 times a week, and regularly using moisturizer and oil exclusively, my "naked hair" has more defined curls and much less frizz, more like yours in this set of pictures.

ITA with this!! It takes soooooo damned long for hair to dry with loads of goop in it. It dries so nicely with nearly nothing in it. I cant say that Id dare go out with naked hair lol but loading it down with gel our mousse really doesnt work that well and by the next day looks worse than if Id put nothing in it. Naked hair also stays more soft and moist between washes too, probably because theres no heavy gel/mousee/curl stuff to block the moisture....

Just that avocado mask (but that's right....I used that after these pics, I forgot). I've been wearing my hair straight so I haven't been using much product at all. Just a light moisturizer and small amount of oil every other day. My fine hair can't take much product when straight. I did a pre-poo with evoo, washed my hair with some old sulfate shampoo i had and conditioned with Hairveda 24-7 which I've never used before. It is odd that my hair looks so different.

I'm curious to wash my hair and let it airdry again to see what results I get. I will be doing it again in a couple weeks. I'll probably post comparison pics in my blog. I don't wanna keep making pic threads on the forum and bore you guys, lol.

My silk wrap results turned out great though. My hair is so light and fluffy

Bore us? That's absolutely impossible. I always love seeing picture threads so that never gets old. Your hair doesn't get tangly when it dried naked? Whe I get more length and hopefully less shrinkage I might bite the bullet and try that myself.

No, it's actually less tangly than when it has product in it.

I love your hair no matter how you style it, but I like it a whole lot more naked!!! The fullness and curls having their way are just so nice to see!!!

Beautiful! Thanks for sharing.

Hi Poka,

Thanks for the tasty eye candy! I

It seems we have very similar hair both in curl pattern and in texture (I have less hair than you, though; my hair is thinning as well on my crown and temples. Your hair also hangs down more; I cannot get my naked hair to flow down my back like that).

My hair when naked (which is a very rare occurence) looks more like your first set of pics (2009). I never wear my hair naked because although I like the cloudlike effect it gives (the closest to an afro my fine 3-ish hair will ever get), I like defined springy coils on me even better.

I would be willing to wear naked hair out for the first time in my life , but my concern is how fragile it seems/feels to me when it is in that state. Have you experienced more breakage when you leave it naked (or did you back then when you took that first set of pics)?

Thank you!

I haven't worn it for an extended period of time yet. I've only done it 2 or 3 times and all were in preparation for a dc so I kinda upon the idea to go with naked hair on accident. I'm glad I did, 6 years in the hair game and I'm still learning things.

I think if you at least use a little moisturizer and oil you should be good as far as the fragile brittle feel. I'll be experimenting with this more as the weather warms up so hopefully all will go well.
