Wet Bunning

This was fun the first few times, but then I realized several things:

My hair always felt too tight as it was drying, giving me a headache
My hair never dried in the middle, and it made my scalp itch.

I prefer to do buns on prestretched, dry hair now.

I damp bun and it has been working wonders for my hair. I can bun for about 2 weeks without washing or combing my hair. Since I have started going to the gym 5 days a week this helps me not to have to worry about taking too long to style my hair.

Man I wanna bun so badly so I can keep these ends out the way and untouched and so I can do something different than slapping this scunci headband on everyday. :( I would not wear it to give my edges a break but I have to look kempt in uniform and that's all I can do now. My hair is like growing but it's something about the hair at the top of my head it doesn't shrink like the rest and it poofs up. i think my hair on top is a different type, everything else acts like 4 hair. I need some hair styling tips cause the only thing I can do is wear a pretty headband when I go out to spruce up my hair and that is getting sooooo annoying.

I hope wet bunning is ok for relaxed hair...I plan to to this all summer....I just realized that last summer I did this but it was just under a phoney pony...my hair would be damp for days and I didnt mind at all, but since my setback has left me with much thinner hair and 4-5 inch left edges, it should dry a lil faster....I will not be able to streatch as long doing this since I have 9z hair type...I swim everyday in the summer and I have got to find a way to style when I have to co wash daily...and this will be it...I will give it a try.

Also bumping for more responses....any relaxed wet bunners?

Wet buns are my holy grail and I used wet buns almost exclusively (99% of the time) when growing out my hair. As someone else stated, use a hair friendly ponytail holder, keep is moisturized, and the rest is easy!

wet bunning is a no no for me! My hair breaks more and it tends to get tangled right where my ponytail holder sits. I always have to let them airdry first

For me, wet bunning is fine if done in moderation with my natural hair. When I was texlaxed it was not a good thing AT ALL. It caused some breakage. I wouldn't recommend any relaxed or texlaxed ladies to wet bun often if at all. I think naturals can do it in moderation, however. I think leaving hair wet all day, which wet bunning does because it takes A LOT longer to dry, is not really that healthy, IMO.

Wet bunning is just fine for me, but I try to do this more often in the spring and summer. When I had relaxed hair I would wet bun but my hair didn't like it.

i do it right in the shower. i just put in my leave in and seal it with out and put a little more water on it, wring it out and bun. only problem is my hair retains a lot of water and it runs down my back so i wrap a tshirt around my nape to collect the water until its done draining...lol...
