I haven't been updating in here lately. I haven't used anything up but I started swimming a few weeks ago and now have to shampoo more often. I should be using up a few things by the end of July. I need to go review my list and remove anything I have used up and add anything I have purchased lately.

I'm currently debating on going vegan or vegetarian. I'm thinking that while changing my diet, I will also change to vegan or natural hair products. Not sure if I'll actually be able to do it since my hair likes what it likes but I'm going to try. Going to start focusing on my non vegan/natural products first. I marked the Vegan and Vegetarian products with a V. The products in red, are the ones I'm going to focus on using up in the summer.

- Camille Rose Naturals Sweet Ginger Cleansing Rinse (V)
- Obia Naturals Coconut Shea Shampoo Bar (V)

I'm a sucker for free offers and offers with a percentage off plus free shipping, so I have added a free Simply Organics JBCO sample and an Andalou Naturals Argan Oil & Shea Conditioner.

During the 4th of July sale, I ordered from Keirenae. The butter I ordered is on backorder, so she sent me a Bella Butter and Elixir to compensate for the delay.

Hi, all.

Is it okay if I join?

I really don't feel like I have a ton of products, and I don't feel like I'm purchasing willy nilly, but I may have blinders on?!?? It can't hurt to track what's coming in, getting used, and going out.
Yay! :clapping: The more the merrier! Selfishly, I'm curious about your inventory. :look:

Step 2: Identify products I have and plan to use . . . but do not plan to replenish once used up. NOTE: I mainly ignore any sample products I might have, except for those I particularly want to use and/or continue trialing.

So, my aims for the year are to:
  1. Use up or give away products in the far right column so that I can cross them off and not replenish them.
  2. Going forward, ONLY PURCHASE:
    • Staples, as needed or when on a 20% or more sale,
    • Twisting stylers in hopes of finding a staple, and
    • Setting lotions/mousses/foams in hopes of finding a staple.
Pictures are included below.

Wow!!! Love it @YvetteWithJoy !!! I feel really lucky to pretty much know what most of my staples are. Trials can be expensive and space invading. Fun though!

So glad you found your staples, @Dayjoy!

Yep! :yep:

Regarding my main products (first column):

I think the number 25 comes from having FOUR SIX sets of products:
  1. a set of products for doing a super duper fast rest (cowash and ponytail),
  2. a set of products for washing and then deep conditioning on the go when time is short,
  3. a set of products for a more involved wash-and-go,
  4. a set of products for doing a twist-out,
  5. a set of products for doing roller sets, and
  6. a set of products for scalp care and growth aid.
I got samples whenever possible, and I got many, many things on sale, but the trialing has still been more costly than I want to maintain. The white cabinet contains most of my identified staples, and it hangs over the bathroom toilet. The doors are closed, so that collection doesn't overwhelm me. Husband says it's a lot to him.
The brown shelf contains mainly overflow--things in the second column--things that I likely won't repurchase (exception = the Soultanicals poo bars).

SAVING:
  1. I should know SOON which DCs to focus on (I'm trying to decide among the ones listed in the first column). That will save.
  2. I will NOT repurchase the Kinky Curly leave-in or gel. They are very good, but I'm wearing it right now and the Camille Rose Naturals Curl Maker does my hair better more consistently.

Oh you're doing it in a very sophisticated way. And I can see that you are very close to having your regimen locked down.

You have NO IDEA how soothing and helpful your post is to me, @Alma Petra. :love2: Because my MENTAL LIFE is complex, I like my physical space/life to be super simple and streamlined. And I was SO NOT expecting this hair journey to result in STUFF and to be so involved . . . to this degree.

I mean, I'm not even a HAIR PERSON. This natural hair journey. BOY, I tell ya! :look: I look at my hair product items like, "But I'm not even into hair like that. For real, though, I'm not. I'm not." :lachen:

I thought about this the other day: What's BEEN DRIVING ME is that it has dawned on me: "Wowwww! With natural hair, seeing additional length takes YEARS and YEARS. Man, I need to 'redeem the time' then: Hair care needs to aid growth and minimize damage, all the while looking pleasing to the self."

The very good thing is: I think I can get things down to one shelf and not want to keep researching/thinking/tweaking, and that makes me exhale a peaceful sigh of relief. Ayurvedic ingredients, scalp care, growth aids, and styling: Once "conquered," that should slow down a person such as myself. :yep:

:thankyou:
