Well-Known Member
Has anyone seen/tried this product or the others? I saw it today and picked up the root rinse; I've been having scalp and dandruff issues.

Cantu Root Rinse is made with apple cider vinegar, tea tree oil and shea butter – a deeply cleansing yet nourishing cocktail that replaces your shampoo when you need a deeper scalp detox and extra conditioned strands. Rinse away the old and bring on the new revealing stronger, healthier hair with a natural shine. No mineral oil, sulfates, parabens, silicones, phthalates, gluten, paraffin or propylene.
  • Soothes itching & irritation
  • Refreshes scalp without washing or water
  • Great for weaves, braids, locs & extensions

Active Ingredients
Vinegar: Apple Cider Vinegar is believed to have a ton of internal and external benets, including being able to kill lice, serve as an antimicrobial agent (warding off infection), and helping to ease the itching and Ȝakiness associated with scalp conditions such as dandruff, psoriasis, and seborrheic dermatitis. Apple Cider Vinegar is also touted for its ability to improve the shininess of hair and increase moisture retention by causing cuticles to lay Ȝat via pH balancing the hair. Through this same mechanism, it is also believe that Apple Cider Vinegar can correct hair porosity issues.
Tea Tree Oil: Essential oil with known antibacterial and antifungal properties. Tea tree oil assists in naturally cleansing the scalp, ghting itchiness and Ȝakes that are common with dandruff, psoriasis, and sebhorreic dermatitis
Shea Butter: Emollient fat from the nut of the East or West African shea nut tree used to moisturize and soften hair. Hydrolyzed Baobab Protein: Water-soluble protein extract derived from the baobab fruit that provides anti-aging and UV protection benets to the hair, along with damage recovery, damage protection, strength, and conditioning.
Panthenol: Form of vitamin B that can penetrate the hair, and is known to moisturize and soften.
Oat Beta-Glucan: Solution of soluble oat bran bre that has been shown to soothe skin, reduce redness, and provide relief for skin conditions that cause redness or discomfort (like dandruff, eczema, psoriasis, and sebhorreic dermatitis). It improves the tensile strength of hair, while moisturizing dry and Ȝaky scalp.
Bilberry Extract: Relative of the blueberry, and equally rich in antioxidant properties. Research has shown that bilberry extract improves scalp circulation and strengthens collagen production, leading to healthy hair re-growth.

On break

Also, it's cheaper at Walmart than everywhere else... only $3.47

Max hydration method. It's a somewhat involved method designed to keep the hair as hydrated as can be -- for curl definition, health, etc. There's a huge LHCF thread for it, along with some additional ones.

ETA: $3.47! Now I'm wondering, "What's the catch?"

That’s what I do.. I drink and I know things....
Darn, I went to buy some on Walmart online and it's sold out!

I think this would be perfect to use for after I take down my sew in.

Taking a Break from Posting
I was just coming over to this side to search and comment about acv. Creme of nature has a ACV rinse, I'm assuming just released, and I picked it yesterday at the bss. I wonder if this is about to be the new wave with companies.

I used the root rinse this morning, and loooooooove it. First impression: This will be a staple.

I had to follow the instructions and apply it twice to get the tingly effect on my entire scalp and not just spots. My scalp feels GREAT!

Thanks for posting that review, @Dee-Licious!
Yay! Glad it worked for you.

It worked great for us also! I only applied once, but applied an abundant amount to get the tingle. I could have used two applications, but I was tired and over doing my hair. I might do another Root Rinse tonight after my workout.

Guys is it a shampoo? Is it by any means drying? Does it work on the hair as well? Or just the scalp? TIA!
