I'd love to open a thread idea featuring once a month a Biblical Female Powerhouse...blessed by our God, a role model for the month who exemplify Christlike virtues..sacrifice..kindness..ie the fruits of the Spirit..and invite others to post comments..bible studies.....etc if she inspires you,too personally :)

Here are the ones I'd thought about posting...
any other ideas??? :)

4 Esther
5 Proverbs 31
6..The Shunamite Woman Bride in Song of Solomon
7 Sarah
8 Deborah
9 Jael
10 Mary Magdalene
11 Elizabeth
12 Hemorrgaing Woman/Woman offerred to take Christ's crumbs for her daughter

As usual, God has placed in your heart a wonderful gift that can help so many of us grow. I am all for it. When do we start? What do you need me to do? I like your list. To add to it

That's a good idea. It's always nice to have an example to relate to
.
Thank God..for wonderful examples of godly women before us in the bible

I was thinking the 12th of each month..if that's okay and to start with
the hemmoraging woman...only because today in my churches Spa for Soul Day
from and for the Women's Ministry.....she ironically was highlighted and the discussion was on the number 12...for the years ..she was in need of healing ....it seemed not a coincidence...that it came right in time for this

and maybe at the end of each study month...we could say who the next
one would be to get ready or prepare for her...our beloved guest!

if someone has a strong pull in the heart for a particular biblical sister ..
then we do that mentor for that month or for the next
if not...I will just post as led by God
on the 12 for each month for 2009

The Shunammite Woman
That's who the Proverbs 31 woman is!!! adding this name to the list
Thank you SuperNova :)

Any questions or thoughts or bible studies related to the
woman healed who touched Jesus's robe would be welcome or one's own personal intrepretation in terms of how she models faith..or trust or strength or any godly virtues
or bible verses she inspires that we can use actively in our own lives

Each week I will add a weekly devotion to the thread on that mentor
Anyone else please step in and feel free to do this :)

I am on it! I love this woman, she was amazing. What comes to mind is the representation that she wasn't so caught up in the physical man of Jesus Christ, but in the knowledge of who he was spiritually. She understood that his power went beyong his body, just as we have to understand today that the power of God goes outside of the church doors. We don't have to wait until Sunday to praise God, to thank him, to talk to him. Even further as the Body of Christ, we have to understand the power that we have in the world. We can win souls just by example and leading people to Christ so he can work in them, just like he did in us. I could go on and on about the woman who had so much faith to just touch the hem of his garment. Wheww!!!!! this is gonna be a great study. I am so glad you posted it.

I woke up this monring and I thought the Shunnamite woman! ..she's
not the Proverbs 31 woman..she's the Bride..in Song of Solomon
so I fixed that on the list ;)

ESTHER is my girl.

I love this woman, she was amazing.

I'm so grateful for your love and inspiration of these women!!!!!

This is a wonderful idea. I love all of them, but I have a soft spot in my heart for Hannah. I can relate to her in many, many ways.

I found this quiz and thought it might be a fun addition to the thread. For me it gives me a woman that I can relate to and study further. BTW, I am an Esther

love it....love it SuperNova:grin:
Alrighty then!
Adding a poll borrowing the idea from SuperNova's quiz link
Thanks SuperNova!!! :yep:

I added a poll......
I had to double up..as the poll only allows 10 options!
I doubled according to similarities

May and Eve ..being the first mothers..
Sarah and Elizabth..older and childless
Song of Solomon/ Proverbs 31...women of femine and feminist virtues
Jael/Deborah..warriors
maybe for our studies we can do that too as the list grows

who do you identify with ....?
I LOVE Ruth and Hannah..but I chose the Proverbs 31 woman and Song of Solomon

I love the idea.

Ruth and Esther are my favorites. They both speak 'redemption'...full redemption and faithfullness. The loyalty of God to 'highly favor' us with all of His heart.

Bless His Holy Name...

I chose Hannah...personal reasons as DH and I are trying to conceive. It really is starting to look medically like we don't stand a chance. I admire Hannah, but I also find that she challenges me because I am more inclined to accept the Lord's will than to pray really hard for what I want. I want to give my hubby a child so badly though....

Hannah for me at this season in life...

Great idea, Kayte!
