HAMILTON, Miss. —
Five Mississippi day care workers involved in a now-viral video wearing Halloween masks to scare toddlers, are now facing charges.
According to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, the employees of Lil' Blessings Child Care and Learning Center in Hamilton were charged and arrested. Sierra McCandless, Ocianna Kilburn, Jennifer Newman and Shyenne Shelton are facing three felony counts of child abuse, and Traci Hutson faces two misdemeanors, including simple assault against a minor.
Sheriff Kevin Crook said in a statement that investigators, the county prosecuting attorney and district attorney met Monday with parents of the children involved in the incident, and told them of the charges.
"Parents were also given an opportunity to share information they had gathered with MCSO investigators," Crook said.
