Foods that Aid in Hair Growth

Certain foods contain certain vitamins that encourage oxygen flow to the scalp. They don't necessarily stimulate growth, but they do encourage it. These vitamins are vitamins A, B2, B5, B6, E and niacin. Vitamin B is one of the most important because it contains inositol, which transport fat into the cells so your scalp keeps its natural oils longer. Vitamin E increases strength preventing breaking and splitting at the ends. Avoid foods with a lot of fat. They can clog the pores and make hair oilier. For shinier hair, eat a lot of protein rich foods.
carrots
spinach
cabbage
lettuce
apricots
eggs*
liver
fish
butter
whole grains
lentils
lean chicken
beans-especially soybeans
tofu
milk
nuts- almonds, macadamia, chestnuts, Brazil nuts
seeds- sunflower and pumpkin
vegetable oils
bread
wheat flour or wheat germ
cheese
citrus fruits- grapefruit, oranges, and lemons
peas- chickpeas, black-eyed peas
veal
beets
* Eggs contain vitamins A,B2,B5 and E

I know that's right. My hair grows the fastest when I eat a lot of carrots.

I love soybeans, I wonder if it matters how you cook them. But never noticed a difference.

Another excellent post HR!!

I definitely believe this b/c my aunt would cook all of these things and insist that I eat it b/c she said that it was good for the skin, hair and nails. And during that time, my hair grew the fastest.

Thank you but I can't take credit. I didn't research this. All of this info was posted on the BHC four years ago.
