Relaxed, 4B
I am so excited today - I think I've finally gotten both product and technique down...I am 9 weeks post and I swear looking at my hair you'd think that I just did a relaxer! My only issue now is when to do my next relaxer - my plan was at the end of this month - 12 weeks but I don't know if I"ll need too...I'll wait and see I guess. Also, I don't think my hair is as course as I thought it was. I just was not treating it right. I love this site and the amazing knowledge and skill of the ladies on here:) Thanks for sharing...I can't wait for a couple more months to show you guys what will be a beautiful length improvement:)

Protein Conditioner - Motions CPR Reconstructor
Moisturizing Conditioner - Motions Moisture Plus
Protein Treatment - Motions CPR Protein Treatment
Heat Protectant - N/A

I have definately mastered my product regimen and have no desire to try or add anything else. The Motions products have been part of my regimen since the beginning of my hair journey in 2006. They last a long time, because I use them only a few times a year. I added the Giovanni and oils about 3 years ago and use them quite often....along with Suave and VO5 Conditioners.

Moisturizing Shampoo: Neutrogena Triple Moisture Shampoo
Reconstructing Shampoo: Aphogee Shampoo for Damaged Hair
Chelating/Clarifying Shampoo: N/A
Protein Conditioner: Aphogee 2 Minute Reconstructor
Moisturizing Conditioner: Neutrogena Triple Moisture Deep Conditioner + Aussie Moist
Protein Treatment: Aphogee 2-step
Heat Protectant: Chi Silk Infusion, Fantasia Hair Polisher (fav), Biosilk must use these up
Leave In: Rusk Smoother, NTM (Daily), Aphogee Keratin and Green Tea
Serum: Same as Heat Protectants
Oil: Virgin Coconut

I feel mastered I have been using mainly protein based Aphogee Poo and Condi. I want to alternate between moisture and protein twice a week.

NTM is good but not all that great to me once it's gone I may add Elasta QP Intense conditioner + Creme conditioning shampoo. Or try Aphogee Deep Moisture Shampoo and use the Balancing conditioner weekly.

I use the following:

Shampoo: mild natural bar soap (I switch it up)
Protein Conditioner: AO GPB
Moisturizing Conditioner: AO WC
Protein Treatment: my replacement for this is henna
Heat Protectant: N/A
Leave In: after I DC, I leave in the AOWC
Serum: N/A
Oil: EVCO
I also use conditioners to detangle: I change this up, but like HE the best so far

I like to switch it up every now and then, but I've basically found my niche in using these products!

I'm not looking for all the products that you have listed but ... I have found staples for shampoo & conditioner -- Organix. ORS Replenishing Pak is my staple DC -- I believe. I'm still looking for a leave-in, moisturizer, and styling product to better define/defrizz my twistouts, braidouts. Oh, and coconut oil for my staple oil, although I don't use it as often as I should.

My hair isn't extremely picky so I'm doing okay with the products I have now, I just know I could get better results out of something different. :yep:

UPDATE: I think I have found my leave-in, moisturizer, and styling product in Qhemet Biologics. For now, I'm quite content to using these - and the aforementioned - products. :yep:

I've been natural almost 7 years. I'm far from a PJ but feel that my natural hair journey is in a constant refining process. For the most part, I'm still on the search for my absolute best ( I still need a good DC and leave in for starters). I don't use to many mainstream products - ayurveda powders are my cleansing source (no more shampoo for me)

I have my product regimen pretty much on lock down but I LIKE testing the waters every now and then to see if there is anything out there even better than the products I love and often use.

I am not even a third as bad as I was about a year ago with testing different products. I have no new product updates to report on currently and haven't had one in a long while and I am fighting to keep it that way darn it:bat:.

Poor me! I try something new every single wash because I keep buying stuff! Every week is a product review! One day I will be content with what I have, but I cant resist deep conditioners and leave ins, in those 2 products i think there will always be something better out there!

Moisturizing Shampoo: Luv Luv Luv Chagrin Valley Poo bars - Honey Butter, Marshmallow & Babassu

Reconstructing Shampoo: Dont think I need that

Chelating/Clarifying Shampoo: I use Kinky Curly Come Clean but I dont think its the best thing ever...but I do luv bentonite clay

Protein Conditioner: homemade concoction with an avocado, egg yolk, yogurt, coconut milk, and bananas. I do black tea rinses too so I dont feel the need for anything hardcore

Moisturizing Conditioner: Yes to Cucumbers, Nature's Gate Avocado, SheScentIt Super Soft Honey, SheScentIt Green Tea and Hibiscus

Heat Protectant: I have BioInfusion and Fantasia but those suck! I wanna try the Sabino Moisture Block

Leave In: KBB Hair Milk, Kinky Curly Knot Today, water & glycerine

Serum N/A

Oil: Castor, Coconut, Jojoba, Avocado, Rice Bran

Reconstructing Shampoo

Chelating/Clarifying Shampoo
N/A
Protein Conditioner
Aphogee 2-min reconstructor
Moisturizing Conditioner
Herbal Essences 'It's a Curl Thing' ('Totally Twisted' in the US)
Protein Treatment
I guess the Aphogee above could count. I also do egg treatments when I feel the need.
Heat Protectant
IC Fantasia heat protectant
Leave In
N/A - I just leave a little bit of my conditioner in
Serum
N/A
Oil
Castor Oil, Vatika and sometimes Olive if I want to baggy or do a hot oil treatment.

I use Cream of Nature anti-dandruff to wash right now and sometimes Sulfur 8. This is the one part of my regimen I'm still not 100% happy with but it hasn't been detrimental to my hair. I do not try a lot of products on this front but I am looking for something that will keep my scalp as itch free as S8 without leaving my hair feeling stripped afterwards.

I use DRP-11 from Elasta QP to DC.

I leave a little of my condish in my hair in and then apply Castor oil afterwards. I don't use a regular moisturiser.

I use bentonite clay because it makes my hair softer, easier to detangle and it is known to clarify. I use henna every few months.

yup...i used to be a pj...i still have some pj tendencies, but i know the basics i need for my hair to thrive...water, condish and oil...no sulfates, no mineral oil/petroleum, cones are fine in moderation, co-wash regularly, detangle when needed...protect at night...its really best to keep it simple...i might switch up brands sometimes, but its basically the same methods and techniques, and same basic ingredients...though there are products that i really want to try, i cant justify myself paying over $20 for a product when a $5 product works perfectly fine.

I would say yes and no. lol

Chelating/Clarifying Shampoo - ACV rinse with my regular shampoo
Protein Conditioner - LeKair Cholesterol or ORS Replenishing Conditioner

Poll is closed but I would've picked "Yes.. But Don't Mind Testing the Water Every Now And Then ". VO5 is my go-to for everything now that I'm mainly co-washing, doing simple deep conditioning sessions and I'm going to start going back to the salon for my relaxers so everything is pretty simple now...
