I need a wig! But I hate the wig look

I've been getting sew-ins back to back for so long, my hair needs a break. I want it to breathe and take the time to treat it....but I hate the "wig" look. I'm thinking something curly and reasonably priced.

Any recommendations?

Out of all wigs available, the curly ones have always appeared wig-ish.

What about a upart with a lace closure? How much are you willing to spend first of all? @LaBelleLL

good question SuchaLady. i'm not sure actually. so i guess my price cap is pretty high. i'm just more concerned with quality and not having that wiggy look. i am new to wigs and frankly, nervous about wearing one. so i woudln't mind buying just ONE really good one that i could rock all the time so people would think it's my hair.

Straight wigs with bangs look less "wiggy." If you're doing the curly thing, you should consider a u-shaped wig and blend your leave out with the wig.

I need some education in this area as well. I have no clue what a U shape is. But I do know it is difficult to find a nice curly wig. I have been looking for a few months now.

So I'm going to follow your thread OP and perhaps I can learn something.

Lol you can sew the closure on or make it a full wig PM me. I will explain LaBelleLL

SuchaLady ohh shows how much i know. i thought a sew-in is when you sew the wig hair onto your scalp or hair or something. or maybe i'm looking at the wrong video? the link sent me to "How I Install my lace closure and U-part". is that the proper video?

I feel like all curly wigs look wiggy . I don't like the wig look either, but I've seen some pretty decent ones on YT that I'm willing to give it a try. I'm tired of doing my hair .

Do you have a preference if the wig is long? short? curly? straight?

I think making a reasonably priced wig look good is all about making it your own. You might have to thin it, cut it and/ or restyle it. I'm no pro like some of the women on this forum but I've gotten pretty good at working a wig over the years :)

Subbing! I'm also on the hunt for a nice affordable wig. I bought some virgin hair over Christmas to do a sew-in and it kept shedding and tangling and shedding :( The hair itself still looks nice, although at one point, I thought when I took it out I'd be removing nothing but the bald wefts! I made it into a wig to make things easier on myself but my plan of having this hair be my hair for the year probably won't work out. The shedding has decreased but I'm still traumatized lol and need some more hair options. Maybe a straight hair wig with bangs, but I sort of think those look wiggy a bit...

I'd say find a "fall" AKA half wig or instant weave that MIMICS your hair exactly! Mine looks SO much like my hair that I call it my "Audra" wig. hahaha I would start researching half wigs that have the qualities of your real hair, then youtub review them.

For me it's MilkyWay's Wig Milano Girl Human Hair found here for under $70 http://www.myhaironline.com/milkyway-fullcap-half-wig-milano-girl-human-hair/?gclid=CJz4nfWu5rUCFYqf4AodrXIAiQ

pre_medicalrulz where do you suggest buying wigs that don't have the wiggy look? or which kinds of wigs?

i wouldn't mind dropping the dime for one good quality wig.

Maaaan, when I went to quote this message I had the website on the tip of my tongue. LOL! I'll be back after my brain fart. :(

Yes, those are some nice looking wigs. I wish I'd gotten one of those instead of the virgin hair that I got. :/
As sad as it might sound I am following a couple hair gurus on Youtube and waiting until they have blog sales on the slightly used RPGshow wigs they want to give up.

I agree with a previous post about RPG Show Wigs. Here's a link to a YT review on the "Tyra" model. I'm thinking about getting this one myself.

Here are 2 links to a Platinum Wig which is my second choice. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WX9Hin0mRHc&list=PL8E2A2121A9694B9B&index=14

Of course neither of the above are curly wigs but I think they are very natural looking.

Here's a link to a curly one - Model Model Joy LF. It's a very popular wig but I think it can be styled to look natural:
