Hi ladies! I just want some confirmation that Rue La La is legit (I've only ordered from Gilt/Gilt Fuse).

I was looking at a Movado watch for my fiance. They're having some pretty good deals on them; just paranoid that I'll end up with a fake (that'd make for a really bad Christmas).

    Thanks!

EDIT: I called Movado's customer service. They said the Rue La La Movados may be legit, but Movado doesn't cover them under warranty. You can send them in for repair if they break, but at your expense.

They said Amazon and Macys, places like that, have cover warranties. I'm not taking any chances; I'll just purchase a Movado there.

I am glad that I stumbled across this thread as I am looking to get a movado for my BF. Is an invitation the only way that you can gain access to the site?

I tried to get on that site but had trouble. I was sent an invitation, then send an email to pick a password and the link didn't work. Is there a customer service number I can call? Do you ladies who order from them have it?

What's the repair process if your purchase at Macy's or Amazon?

And, yes, it does have the manufacturer's limited warranty.

I called Movado, who makes the watches. And I called Rue La La.

I think I'll trust the maker of the watches over Rue La La, sorry.

They cover the repairs, then. The warranty card must be signed. Rue La La may have signed ones, though. I just am going off what Movado told me.

It's good you called. What did Rue Lala say about the warranty?

I called them before I called Movado. Now, they told me that the watches had a limited manufacturer's warranty. But they couldn't specify how long or give me details. I then called Movado and they said the warranty cards have to be signed for the warranty to be honored.

I didn't call Rue La La back to ask about their warranty cards. The girl seemed nice, and even told me they'd do a monetary credit as opposed to a merchandise credit for me. But I dunno.

Did you inquire as to how long the warranty is? Typically it's only a year anyway I think? Also, if Ruelala is clearing out the watches Movado should honor because Ruelala is really Smart Bargains or one of them companies? I can't remember? Lastly, ask the girl at Ruelala which one of their merchants is shipping the watches and see if it comes up on the dealer grid on the Movado website; if yes...Then Movado has to warranty it with proof of purchase.

my thing is when you purchase lux items or a pricey item included in the box is a warranty card option that you can either fill out or call and etc--or include dint he packaging

so im assuming they should have the warranty card in the movado box with all the other bells and whistles no?

Yup, but Movado claims they may not honor Rue La La's warranty at all. That's my only issue.

Is the price going to be dramatically lower on Ruelala? If it isnt whats the point, just be cautious and go with Macys or Amazon.....

No problem! I also agree with Perfect28; if there is a warranty card they should honor. Also while channel surfing I saw a Ruelala commercial on Bravo. So, if they can pay NBC for commercial time I think they are legit enough. With that said I still think it's good you are doing discovery before buying.
