I knew a lady once. She was my best friend at the time "Miss Ladoris". I was 16 then and she was 62 with a head full of long, grey, relaxed hair (that she would allow me to trim every few months). Her hair was about APL and thick. I wanted long hair like her, but never could imagine having hair that long. And now I'm Hip Length. I wish I could go to her and show her my hair now.:cry4: In a few days I'll be well into my 30s.

Flash back: she taught me how to crochet, and encouraged me to pursue my career as an opera singer (I could have made it big).

    Ah...so nobody LOL.
The above pic is me 30 years from now still maintaining my mane. I'll come back to bump the thread in 30 years.

Just let this one slide into the back.

I’m 50 as of today. My hair is still thick but thinning at the temples. And I’m not happy about it.

I hope you don't mind me asking, but what caused the thinning?

46 and with the exception of my edges my hair is thick. The thinning is a combination of some over zealous facial waxers who had a very liberal interpretation of what fell under the umbrella of "side burns" and extended wig wearing.

Awesome! This is good news and gives me plenty hope for my future 40ish hair. Another success report. "Check". I hope your edges fill back in soon.

What?! :D:D *prays* "Please Lord let me have hair so thick that I'd wish to lend out". Let me be the lender and not the borrower in Jesus' name Amen. Let the church say :amen:.

48 and hair still thick. Abt 5 yrs ago i dealt with a very tragic stressful event and my hair started to thin only on the right side. I am close to APL
I have been using the spritz from chime's hair breakage video. That IMO has helped my hair so so much

I'm 46 and my hair is still thick. Very thick

Not as thick as when I was younger, but still thick
I hated my thickness growing up.

It's more manageable, while when at my peak, I'd say it was darn right unmanageable. No one wanted to do it.

So now, I'm happy, I'm blessed with a head full of hair. I think I'm past APL; I don't have the energy to check.
I have noticed that my cousins who once had thick hair when we were growing up, their hair has thinned out considerably.
But me and my sister, NOPE!!

Do you notice any lifestyle or hairstyle choices that may be causing their thinness?

I really can't say. Maybe just aging naturally.

I think it's a anomaly to still maintain thick hair; (IMHO) as one ages.

It's my birthday month! I'll be 44 and my once lush thick hair is thin and stringy. It is what it is and my 3 children are the proof. Lol!
My DD has thick luscious hair like I used to have. I wont ruin it for her and tell her what she can expect though.
DH had a full head of curls when I met him...dude is thinning in the middle and considering a man weave! I told him he needs to hold off on that till the divorce though...

52 and my natural hair (which I wear in a curly Afro) is thick all over with only 2-3 grays.

46 and my natural hair is BSL and thick. When relaxed, it seemed as if my hair grew like a weed. Now, I definitely seem to grow only a 1/2 inch per month. My edges have never recovered since my last pregnacy 13 years ago though. I credit the steamer and low manipulative styles for retaining length. I am wearing my minitwists in more updos now also to protect my ends.

I'm in my late 40s; most of my hair is between waist and tailbone. It is thinner than it used to be, but that is more due to illness than age, I think. The women in my family whose hair thinned out a lot in their 40s/50s tend to be the ones who straighten with heat weekly. I'm too lazy to use heat that often.
