JamaicaN Black Castor vs Regular Castor

Is there a difference besides color. I bought the JBCO and the color obviously different from the castor and it smells like an ASH CIGERRETTE TRAY . Is regular castor oil the same way

PLUS its thick and weight my hair down to limpness

I have the same question. I bought some and it was in a dark bottle but when I opened it, it was clear. i could have gotten triple the amount from the vitamin shop.

You have to use castor oil sparingly regardless of whether you prefer the JBCO or the clear stuff. JBCO has a smell which many try to mask with essentials oils or even perfumed oil. I've always used JBCO, but there are many other threads where some here on LHCF got similar results using the drug store brand.

One tip, I found it FAR easier to apply a small amount of JBCO to lightly dampened hair or even wetting my hands first then pumping a small amount, rubbing it around then put on my hair. If your hair is super limp, most likely you are adding far too much. There is no benefit in oversaturating the hair with any oil.
