List what's working and what's not for this month.
SSI Tahiti Iced Tea. I normally dont like refresher sprays when my hair is loose. Its easier to moisture when the hair is contained but this is working well. I dont even have to massage it in. I just spray and go about my business. Instant moisture.
Imma hafta' try that SSI Iced Tea next Sale!
On Going Hits (in no particular order):
Stunnababez Fermented Rice Water Leave-In
MyHoneyChild Honey Hair Mask
Hairveda Almond Glaze
Uniqurl Aloe leave in and styler. Very moisturizing. Slip when applying and next day hair is soft. I'd like to try it on naked hair to compare straight after washing but very nice. My hair hates coconut and aloe but this doesnt feel hard or brittle at all.
The middle hair of my head is extra fragile, I need to stop parting my hair down the middle. Its very thin in that spot.
Good to know about Uniqurl's L-I.
I wish you woulda' gotten the DC'er so we could compare notes.
I have the Leave-In too. If you continue to get good results, I might be sending that one your way. (probably won't use).
Keep me posted.
I will, you know im leery because of the ingredients, so I'll try it a few more times. The LI was on sale for $10 so I scooped it up. I think shes coming out with something else soon @IDareT'sHair
I bought it on the cheap-cheap too, but don't know when I'll get to it.
Yes, please lemme know if it works for you or the Baby-BOSS
never mind I found them
Avocado Hair smoother topped with Aloe Whipped Butter Gel
Rose Hair Refresher spray
Creme of Nature Honey Shampoo and Conditioner: The shampoo was too heavy and oily for my fine hair, the conditioner left my hair feeling stiff and stripped.
Major hit: Paul Mitchell supercharged conditioner; soft shiny hair made my fine hair and ends thick
Continued Hits(in no particular order):
Stunnababez Leave-In and Stunnababez Cowash/Conditioner
Curls Blueberry & Mint Scalp Tea
Naturelle Grow's Deep Conditioners
Sarenzo Avocado Heavy Cream
Ayurvedic shampoo bar. Doesn't dry out my hair like other poo bars. My hair isn't falling as much.
Acid water. My hair and face love this.
Still loving the Buttermilk, Leche dc, Bahari water and Tonga mouse.
My braids being damped when I unraveled this morning. Womp womp
Taura Amore Macanet Butter blend. Creamy Shea butter blend that’s melts down easily. Hair still has a slight dull hue to it but it does mix well. Might be better as a prepoo for me but I like it.
Postpartum Shedding , I never realized how thin my hair has felt in the last 2 years.
My hair is feeling full again . Im loving it!!!
My youngest is 6 years old and my temples didn't recover. I lost about 20% density in that area.
I have been experimenting with many shampoos the last few weeks.
Aussie miracle curls shampoo & Tresemme flawless curls shampoo: Cleanses without stripping, I can detangle with both these shampoos. They almost feel like co-washing with suds.
Cream of nature argan oil of Morocco shampoo: Very gentle cleanser that I can partially finger detangle with easily. I may have a slight allergy from it or something, because my eyes tear up each time I use it Is it still a HIT? not sure lol
Tresemme boutanique nourish and replenish shampoo: Made my strands feel rough and very weirdly dry. I did not like this shampoo at all.
Garnier whole blends avocado/shea butter shampoo & Garnier whole blends honey treasures shampoo: They gave me the same result, slightly drying, cleanse well but it was nothing special.
Camille Rose Natural Curl Love Milk: Has great slip, smells very nice, a little bit goes a long way, very moisturizing. It left my strands coated and icky. I could not stand it on, and I washed my hair asap.
Camille Rose curl maker: I wanted this to work so bad. But it did not. it was epic fail as WNG. It had great slip, and it applied like a dream for a gel. HOWEVER, It did not last even one day, and NC weather won the battle of humidity vs curl definition. It left my strands coated as well.
Wet extreme line gel: It did not blow my mind. Too crunchy for my liking. It did not do much for frizz even though I got nice clumps with it. I might retry this a second time just to make sure.
If you have any drugstore shampoos you think are worth trial, let me know!
Hit x 10: Mielle Organics Protein Free DC
Originally, I wasn't sure if I liked this DC, but after four uses - I am hooked. I still have a little over half the jar bc this product truly goes a long way (I always mix it with Canola Oil as well). This was definitely worth $20. It has some kind of detangling property and truly hydrates my hair (my hair always coils up so much with this product, and my ends no longer felt strawlike from the coconut oil I used today). It also stops breakage from dehydration.
Miss: Coconut Oil
My hair can only tolerate coconut oil in well-formulated products. I’ve always known this, but wanted to revisit it as a part of my prepoo process. Mistake. The AC was on and I think it hardened the oil in my hair, defeating the purpose of reducing breakage/protein loss. I’ll stick to oils I know my hair likes.
PJN Black Rice Scalp Defog Treatment - just way too thick for my liking
Is it supposed to clear debris off your scalp? @rileypak
Curls cashmere and caviar hair masque: Very moisturizing, and left hair very manageable for styling. I had such an easier time doing my crown area. It will be added to my DC rotation for sure.
Pull impurities from the hair follicles and balance the pH of the scalp
PJN Hibiscus/Fenugreek Leave in conditioner and Cocoa/Kalahari Flaxseed Buttercream
Moist, soft, touchable hair the next day. Smells nice too. The spots I made the braids too big in are a little damp, so I know the definition will poof eventually but overall I give them a 10!
Terra Veda Organix Curl definer gel for the LO. Soft hold. Beautiful curls that are touchable and dry soft.
Terra Veda Organix Mousse. First time trying. Defining. Holding and seems to be looking great.
Fenugreek hair mask
Slip detangling softening and curl popping. I’m in love. Steam made it 100 times better.
Silica leave in. Nope made my hair dry and hard. In the garbage it goes.
Soultanicals Molasses deep conditioner. First it wasn't mixed well. Brown on top, yellow underneath. I re mixed it and tried it. After rinsing it out, my hair was dry and rough. I had to rewash my hair. In the garbage it went. I'll just stick with the Butta washes...
Fenugreek hair mask from who?
