:help:I have been trying various hair clips for holding my hair in sections while conditioning or styling and everything that I've tried thus far has failed to hold my thick, BSB, hopefully soon to be MBL hair in place well. I have broken an entire pack of

The screwed prong on these kinda scare me, I think they might get tangled in my hair or something

I've also tried the salon care shorty clips, which I guess common sense should have told me would be too short for my hair.:ohwell:

So ladies, please help me out.

It would also be helpful if you'd please describe how thick or long your hair is with your clips of choice.

TIA

I bought a few clips from Long Hair Girl and used to like them. However, the swarovski crystals and various embellishments easily catch in my hair and cause a few strands to break off whenever I use the clips. So, I have put aside my entire stash.

I used to use extra long bobby pins, but I find that they are also hard on my hair. I am still using them for now, but I am alternating them with a smooth, plastic claw clip that I bought from either CVS or Duane Reade (I no longer remember).

I just bought a few ficcare clips online and when I receive them (they should have come already :angry2:, lol), I will focus on just them. A ficcare-like clip that I bought from CVS two summers ago was the best thing ever for my hair, until it became rusty and ugly (Hooray for poor workmanship). I will post when I get my ficcares to share what I think of them.

Thanks, tenins

I have been eyeing the ficcare clips for pretty updos, but I'm really looking for workhorse type clips for conditioning, or separating my hair to moisturize, or flat iron.

Maybe I should look for some smooth jaw clips...hmmm

Oh and thanks for the tip on the long hair girl stuff.

Good Hair Day clips have never let me down. I was afraid I wouldn't know how to use them, or they would slip out, but these things STAY. I do double buns with them a lot, and you get quite a few for the price.

I am a fine haired natural, almost BSB.

Thanks ladies! So two votes for claw type clips. Mwedzi, I just wanted to officially tell you that you are one of my hair inspirations.:notworthy

I'm still trying to figure out how to use the good hair day pins well. I almost feel like my hair is too thick for them. I've been using them to secure my ends sometimes in my ponytail bun. I haven't figured out how to do anything else though.
