I want to try making a wig with synthetic hair because human hair is too expensive. Do you guys have any low maintenance crochet/braiding hair you can recommend? The cheaper the better. I am fine with some tangling as long as it's not alot. I want something that could last at least a month. I will be buying a synthetic hair conditioning spray and I heard blow drying and trimming the ends from time to time can help, which I'm willing to do. I just don't wanna buy that kind of hair that'll mat in 3 wears something terrible (you know what I'm talking about). I want something yaki-straight.

Also, feel free to use this thread to post about any low maintenance crochet/synthetic hair you've used (to wear out), no matter the texture, length, color, etc. I'm sure lots of ladies are interested who wear crochet. It's hard finding good synthetic hair, and premade synthetic wigs are getting too pricy for me. It could become like a reference place for what hair is good for such and such styles, etc. Thanks!!

My daughter likes to use Freetress jumbo Senegalese twist. She splits each twist in half before crocheting the half twist onto my hair. (I hope that makes sense.)

    I use Zima Ocean Wave.

it blows out to look like a natural texture and you can braid it up and dip it for a braidout look.

After it starts to tangle I add a leave in and brush it out and start all over again.

So I brought some Milky Way Que Malaysian Iron Texture Straight (1B) in the 22-26 length, and its supposed to come with a lot of hair and a cheap closure I will probably just toss. I'll let you guys know how it turns out. The hair looks soooo pretty online. I got it for $27.00 including shipping.

I have in crochet Senegalese twist.
I paid 30 bucks on amazon for 6 packs.
I never used all of them. If you look around they have different kinds of hair. Cheaper than the beauty supply store.

I got the hair and it looks way less full than the reviews I saw and TOO SHINY!!! I don't know if its because I'm not used to hair that looks so luscious and silky, but I'm still pissed. I don't feel like returning it though and searching for another hair so idk what imma do yet. I might try dry shampoo and curling/trimming the ends so it looks less noticeably fake. I don't like the stringy looking ends. And I'm making a lace front so maybe as long as I don't leave any hair out it'll look fine. I wish I could just find a super cheap but natural, long synthetic hair that lasts. No luck yet.

Edit: I paid $27 bucks for it including shipping. Maybe I should just return it...

I'm going to try Zima Ocean Wave next. I use a similar pattern by freetress. Organ oil or Kemy oil does wonder to keep it fresh and not dry looking.
My friend does the best job doing invisible parts. People literally keep asking me if it's my real hair. I find synthetic hair to be best. I tried Human hair but it shed like crazy. I keep mine on for 4 to 6 weeks. You can even wash them.
