I've been lurking on BHM & watching a few youtube tutorials on making 3/4th/ u-part wigs and finally decided to try it. I used Senghori Shells Natural Rhythms in 16 inch & 14 inch in color 1b. I split the wefts of the 16 inch and sealed them with hairextensions101 weft sealer. I used a weaving cap from the BSS.

I used all of the 16in and about a 12in strip of the 14in. I didn't cut the wefts just folded them over while i was sewing it to the cap. I left all of my edges out and a section for a middle part to help blend. then i made a perimeter braid to sew the wig onto. i flat ironed the hair and curled it with the flat iron to give it some body.

i really love this hair. the hair has shed maybe 1 hair. there have been NO TANGLES. :yep:

i'm pretty new to the wig game but i think i did a pretty good job for my first time. i'm going to redo the wig though cause there was a section in the front that wasn't laying down like i would have liked.

i bought two 1 oz bottles. i used 1 full bottle & about 25% of the 2nd bottle

i was rushing to get ready to see Chris Brown so i don't have any pics of the back of the wig sewed on.

this is the hair air drying after being washed

please forgive the look of the dummy head. it's my 91 year old grandma's so it's probably older than me! lol

Nice!! These are the bomb if you dont want to get a weave. I like leaving some of my own hair out for a more natural look.

really pretty! I bought all the materials needed to make a u-part wig. I will start on this weekend. How long did it take to complete it?

i'm embarrassed to say that it took me a few hours to sew that thing. hopefully i will get faster as i get more practice.

I made one last month and it took me several hours too  I think we'll eventually get faster. Since it was the first time I was very paranoid about making sure the tracks were arranged well and it fit properly.

To anyone who wants to try it themselves, this youtuber was helpful

This is part 2, I didn't save the part 1 to my favorites.

i was paranoid too. i used some wigs pins to hold the hair up as i sewed across the cap. i think next time i will space the tracks out a little wider in the back then space them closer together as i get toward the top.

So pretty! I love the texture and I'm looking into something kinky myself. You did a great job and I love the hair.

Wonderful job, kinky straight texture is the best natural looking hair when flatironed. I just start doing my u part wig (sewing is not my forte).

It looks great!!! Seeing this lets me know that I need/can to conquer this 3/4wig making thing. I tried and did not have a good turnout on the first run. After this install, maybe I will try again.

Ooh that looks great! How was the Chris Brown concert? I heard he put it down in Raleigh! I missed it, but maybe next time! I've been really wanting to make my own wigs, because I feel it is more economical, and I can get the exact look I want. Thanks for the links, and you did a great job!
