Bumping this thread! I've enjoyed reading the comments and seeing how you ladies feel about using heat to straighten. I'm 11 months into my transition and haven't straighted at all. I was very paranoid about it. About a month ago, I started reading serveral threads about naturals that straighten and it's eased my fears, beacuase now I feel like I'm armed with the knowledge to properly straighten.
I still haven't straighted yet because I'm in crochets and will keep getting them installed throughout the summer. But I do plan to finally straighten for Thanksgiving/Christmas. I look forward to it and hope that I don't get to nervous about it when the time comes!
