"Washing" could be shampooing, cowashing, oil rinsing or just water rinsing.

    100% Natural or long-term transitioning:

Method of washing: (Shampoo, cowashing, water, oil or a combo of all.)

I wanna experience oil washing or pre-pooing though. I tried it once and my hair felt good. Idk why I didn't do it again. Anyone know the best oil to prepoo with?

Why: My scalp needs to be cleaned once a week else it acts up and I get buildup galore. Co-washing, rinsing, or even cleansing condishes don't make my scalp happy like shampoo does.

100% Natural: since August 2002; unplanned BC to TWA in 2007
    Current Length: APL
    Method of washing: (see below*)
    How often: Twice a week
Why: Initially I just washed my hair for moisture; so if it felt dry I washed it since I don't use leave-ins. In time, it appeared that twice a week is what it took to keep my hair happy

    *Method of washing:

    Mid-week: shampoo, condition, ACV rinse.

Weekend: same thing but a reconstructor DC (no heat) is included either before the shampoo (then a moisturizing conditioner after the shampoo) if using AO GPB. Or the DC comes after the shampoo if using Emergencee, followed by a second shampoo then a moistuzing conditioner.

ACV rinse always concludes my wash.

Why: Because I love messing with my hair. Like how it feels when it's freshly cleaned and conditioned. :)

I voted before I read your post. I clicked weekly but according to your specifications it should be daily. I am a daily rinser. The only day it is not rinsed is a Saturday if I am staying in the house.

    Current Length: midback
Method of washing: cowashing: weekly; rinse with water: daily
    How often: Daily
Why: habit, like water in my hair and on my scalp, moisture, softness

How often: Once every two or 1 and 1/2 weeks
Why: I have scalp psoriasis so my scalp tends to be very dry, so I wash about every two weeks, which works for me. But it also depends on my physical activity so if I'm every active my wash day gets pushed closer.

It's kept my ends from drying out and cut down on my SSKs. I work out 3x per week so that also helps.

Bsl, combo, I shampoo weekly but I do occasionally cowash daily. I'm not on any particular schedule; I wash weekly because my scalp can't take anymore than a week of buildup. I don't wash everyday like I used to because it's just too much work!

Method of washing: Shampoo, co-wash and water rinse
    How often: 2/3 times a week (1 shampoo, 1/2 co-washes)
Why: Co-washes for moisture, shampoo for cleaning my scalp.

When I've been sweating a lot (especially during the summer) and my scalp is dirty and it's not time yet for my weekly shampoo wash, I'll do an extra water rinse in between to clean my scalp. I just can't stand a dirty scalp.

How often: I shampoo once a month. I TRY to co-wash once a week. I voted weekly because that's my ideal schedule to co-wash. Sometimes I go a month and just shampoo at that point....:ohwell:
Why: My hair just loves co-washes. It helps keep my hair moisturized. I chose to shampoo once a month because I only detangle once a month.

Cowash every other day for moisture and shampoo when necessary usually once a week or every other week (depending on how much build up I have).

ive switched to once a week and my hair is doing better... as long as my scalp doesnt get itchy im gonna try for once every two weeks

    100% Natural:
    Current Length: APL
Method of washing: I shampoo with a clarifier and baking soda. This is what I did when I was growing my hair out and it seemed to work for me. But LHCF told me it was too drying and I stopped... and my hair suddenly became much more unmanageable. So now I've returned to it and am going to see how my hair reacts. I follow up with a deep condition using this method and almost all the same products except instead of a "scalp balm" I use liberal amounts of qhemet AOHC
How often: Once a week... gonna switch to once every two weeks.
Why: I think stripping my hair makes it absorb the dc better. My hair is heavy and damp for much longer this way when without it it seemed as if it couldn't even absorb the water. I run regularly and my hair is constantly dry.

I think my hair is doing much better but I'm gonna give it another couple weeks before I definitively decide it's better.

Method of washing: shampoo, co-wash, rinsing with water

How often: I shampoo once a week. I co wash maybe twice a week, sometimes more, sometimes less. Or if I'm feeling too lazy to co wash I will just do a rinse with water.

Why: I shampoo to get rid of build up from conditioner and products. I co wash for moisture and styling purposes. I rinse for... well, idk what the rinsing does tbh. Lol.

Why: It takes way too long to wash, detangle, style, and air dry my hair more than once a week. Once a week pooing also rids my hair of build-up without drying it out.
