Okay..I'm not sure if you guys call it something else, but we call it an underhand cornrow where I'm from.

I wanted to switch up from my everyday bun. Since I've started cowashing 5 days out of the week (workout 5 days each week), I wanted to try something fast and easy that could serve as a great protective style. Anyway, I just braided it back and pinned my hair under.

Note-The reason that it's called an underhand cornrow is because the braid is on the inside -- the bumpy part is on the inside of the cornrow.

    More pics in my fotki..

Very pretty. Where I'm from we call them "overbraids" since you catch the hair over, instead of under like with basic cornrows

NICE! That's the way I first learned to cornrow. It's how my mom used to cornrow my hair.

yes French braids are a nice easy way to protect hair.

I like to make a part from ear to ear.

I then take that front section from the forehead to the ear-to-ear part and make a side part.

I then make two French braids going back and stop at the ear-to-ear part.

I do not make these going straight back. For each of the two French braids, I follow the curve of my front hair line from that side part I made until I get to the ear-to-ear part.

I then use each of those braids as 2 of the 3 strands needed to continue one big French braid with the rest of my hair from the ear-to-ear part to the nape of my neck.

Then I tuck the ends under with a Good Hair Days Plastic Hair Pin. The are the best hair pins ever. No tearing, no breakage.

I then put my scarf on and my hair will be laid down for the next day. I love that style. It is so easy.

Thanks, but trust me I think I get the average .5 per month. I've just been retaining all of it with my protective styling. Thanks!
