FULTON COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA)—Police are searching for a 52-year-old man who shot and killed a man at World Changers Church International in Fulton County.

The shooting happened during a 10 a.m. worship service in the chapel.

A Fulton County police spokesperson said the suspect, Floyd Palmer, calmly walked into the church and shot Gregory McDowell, 39, of Union City.

McDowell was one of about 20 to 25 people in the chapel.

Palmer then walked calmly out of the church, got into a black Subaru with tinted windows, and drove away.

Police said Palmer used to work at the church. He resigned from his position as a maintenance worker in August, citing personal reasons.

McDowell, who was a volunteer at the church, died after he was taken to a local hospital.

Two area schools, Bethune Elementary School and McNair Middle School, were placed on a temporary lockdown just after 10 a.m., but that lockdown has since been lifted.

Creflo Dollar is the founder and senior pastor of World Changers Church International, which serves nearly 30,000 members.

CBS Atlanta News confirmed that Dollar was not injured in the shooting.

The church has a chapel in New York, which hosts over 6,000 worshippers each week, and a host of satellite churches located across the country.

All Wednesday evening services at World Changers Church International have been cancelled.
