bigbrowneyez is that a Rollerset? Gorgeous hair nonetheless!

Thank you! I blow dried and curled it with a curling iron on this past Tuesday. I maintain the curl at night with 2 Bantu knots (divide my hair on half horizontally, one knot at the top of my head and one at the bottom). I moisturize my hair first and knot it pretty tight (not too tight! Comfortably) It's a low maintenance way of keeping some curl/wave. I like how roller sets look but goodness, I have so little patience waiting for it to dry lol.

I just spent the last 2 nights thoroughly detangling my hair and giving it a good trim. I have it in twists now. Other than Saturday's twistout, I'll probably stick with twists for a minute.

My hair was still holding in a blowout for 3 weeks. I had to DC, co wash, detangle. I have is all oiled up with coconut oil and some conditioner to seal and 4 braids.

Ive decided that I want to fully enjoy my wsl. No more hiding hair & month long protective styling. Im setting my hair free. Ive accepted that if it takes longer to get to whip & hip, then so be it.

I will be blowdrying every two weeks but Im making sure to incorporate a great leave-in & heat protectant.

I think this challenge is better for me than the full hip length, so I'm switching. :yep:

Current Length: Longest later is scraping WL, shortest is BSL due to a recent trim.
Relaxed, Natural, Transitioning or Texlaxed: Natural
Plans for hair once your reach W"HIP" Length (i.e., maintain, chop, grow more, etc.): I honestly don't know. I'm considering cutting it so it's evenly waist length.
Supplements taking: Maxi-Hair and TwinLab Predigested Collagen Protein (Aminos)
Regimen & Products: Bunning only with wooden/horn barrettes that close with a stick or plain hair sticks. Washing with sulfate-free shampoo no more than twice per week. DC once a week alternating between GPB and Argan Mask. Sealing with Wild Growth Oil or Shea Butter. Castor oil on the edges to thicken them up.

SmilingElephant Thanks girl. I love stick bunning. It really cuts down on tangles caused by my hair wrapping around elastic or getting broken off by metal clips. They just slide in so smoothly! No hair ripping sounds or friction breakage.

Thats what i need.

Enyo, how exactly do you bun? Like do you do braids/twists first to stretch your hair out first and then bun?
Or do you bun while wet?

SmilingElephant I always bun either wet or damp. Even if I'm just resetting my bun after sleeping or working out, I spray it with a little water or phyto mist. I do stretch my hair a bit before I bun by pulling it as firmly as possible without being too rough, apply my moisturizer or oils with a stroking motion, and then just twist my hair into the bun making sure my ends are not exposed.

Update photo...sorry, I haven't been in the thread much! Work is killing me!!

Anyway, I think I might be about WHIP length, I think. In the pic, my first roll (LOL) is my non-existent waist. The pic cuts off at my hip, so I think am between WL and HL and my hair wasn't completely straight (still falling from being barrel curled).

Whip Length????

Yay! I was scared to claim it!! :) I gotta figure out something fun to do for my 3 year naturalversary on April 5th!! :) Thank you so much. Yes, still co-washing daily when curly, which is 90% of the time. My hair seems to thrive on it. I need to step up my deep conditioning game though. :look:

Girl, don't give up on your goal. We have 8.5 months left. That's plenty time to do something big! And, growth spurt season is coming up. What? Like Jesse said, "Keep hope alive!" :yep:

HELLO ALL! Since we are a small challenge group, let's just keep it going inside this thread. We are only at 5 pages now, no need to start a new thread every 3 months! I will update this thread name as well.

Carry on and HHG!!

I would say to avoid pressing...Do a moisturizing deep condition on your hair, then blow dry your hair on low heat using a heat protectant and a light essential oil (grapeseed or almond). Then flat iron on a moderately hot setting using small pieces of hair and the comb-chase method. Youtube that for a visual. It will help get your hair straight. Use no more than 1-2 passes over the hair with the iron to avoid heat damage and watch the setting. Try not to go over 380-400 degrees and see how your hair tolerates that. Good luck.

Diva_Esq Thanks. I really think I may just do a single part in the back. Really, that's the part I use the measure my progress, so I can just assume the rest of my hair is the same length and shorter. I may get my intern to do it after work since the back is the hardest part.
