N nicki6 Well-Known Member Sep 13, 2007 #2 Hair shedding is when the entire hair, including the bulb falls from the scalp normally. You can tell because you'll see the white tip on the end. Hair breakage does not have the bulb and its typically shorter in length than shed hair.
