I got bored last night (I am a night owl this was done at 2am) and decided to try to flat iron my hair and check my length. This is 4months 3 weeks after my big chop. I am also including a picture of when I first did my BC and a little in between

It looks good, nice progress especially after 4 months after your bc. I always find it amazing when the hair is in it's natural state, it doesn't look long or it's not growing but as soon as it blown out or flatironed there's length.

Thanks, Ladies. I was nervous about flat ironing for some reason, but curiosity got me. I dont think I will flat iron often. It was so hot in my bathroom and I was sweating so of course my hair was reverting before I even finished. But next time I will probably let a professional do it so that I will have a more polished look in the end.

Wow @ your progress...

I'm trying to hold out on my BC...I'm getting more tempted by the day.

Thank you! When it is time for the BC, you will know. It seems like most people I know who did the BC, it was like something just came over them. They didn't think twice and just did it. I was planning on transitioning for awhile and I was in my bathroom just doing a trim and I just was tired of the relaxed hair so I just kept cutting. It was a really good feeling. Almost like a euphoric rush.

great progress, i hope when I flat iron for my 6 month check it comes out as good as yours,oh my nerves!

Thanks. I feel like I could have done a better job. There is a girl at work who is natural and gets her hair straightened. She looks like she belongs on a relaxer box. I knew I wouldn't get those results doing it myself at home, but I tried. :lachen:

Congrats, I love the way it looks, it has grown so much, I am new myself, but I would urge you to practise with your tools more and more, instead of going to a salon, what you produced yourself is excellent and will only get better, why pay someone to do what you can do. Anyway, lovely growth!!

I've been feeling the same way sometimes, but what's helping me is putting my hair away. I have a sew in right now, so all I really have access to is my leave out hair.

Oh btw OP your progress is great!

It came out nice! How long did u transition before u chopped?

About four months. Not long at all

Thank you. That is very encouraging and so true. Actually I tell people that all the time. Maybe I should follow your and my own advice

your edges look so much better now. So much thicker!

Thanks for noticing! My edges were a HAM when I first started out. Too many glue in quick weaves :nono:
