I'm trying to incorporate them into my regimine. Is anyone deep conditioning with heat and adding one of the ceramide rich oils to them. I want to add wheat germ and hemp seed oil to my weekly dc treatments. I want to know is it okay to use these oils with heat. Thanks

I'm buying hempseed oil today. I will be adding both to my weekly dc treatments. I can't wait to start my new journey.

I do - I put the WGO in before I put in my DC. I forgot it once and it was very noticeable! Hair just didn't have the softness/shine as it normally does.

I deep condition with a squirt (about 1 tablespoon) of hemp seed oil and my hair loves it.

where are the ingredients for silicone mix?

Water, Mineral Oil, Cetyl Alcohol, Stearyl Alcohol, Glycerine, Citric Acid, Cetrimoniun Chloride, Dimethycone Copolyol, Cyclomethicone, Keratin, Ceramide, Diazolidinyl Urea (and) lodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Fragrance.

it has keratin and ceramide :yep:

I mix sunflower oil into my protein DC. I don't need to mix any into my moisture DCs because most of them already contain ceramides.

My Plan for My Winter Regi (although I forgot to do it tonight:ohwell:) is to add a Splash of either Wheat Germ or Kukui Nut to my Deep Conditioners.

Mainly because I am trying to use up some of the oils I have.

I will also use these Ceramide Rich Oils for Hot Oil Treatments too.:lick:

I also drop a splash or 2 off in my Henna mixture.:yep:

Is there a way i can tell if my wheat germ oil has not gone bad? It's been in my fridge for a couple of months.

If it's gone bad, it has a rancid smell to it. I keep my oils in the fridge and it helps them to last longer.

I do use Wheat Germ Oil in my DCs if I'm not going to be under the dryer. I'm pretty sure it was on this forum that I read an article about heat breaking down Wheat Germ Oil (which is part of the reason why it needs to be refrigerated). I'll see if I can find it.

Also, my Wheat Germ Oil (Viobin) says best by 02/2012. I bought it sometime during the summer. It was in a refrigerated case at the store and has been kept in the fridge.

I still have a huge bottle in my frig. I used it once by adding it to my DC. I think I added too much since it did not rince well. The was smell was a big turn off. Maybe, I'll try it again using alot less in my DC.

I have been just a tad bit busy (mission trip) and I had to drop to the basics of taking care of my hair.

I put some wheat germ oil in my daily spritz and deep condition with wehat germ oil in my queen helene or lekair cholesterol and also in my conditioner and the growth and retention has been really really really good.

Just keeping this very simple regimen is working and I will be keeping it for a while.

My hair is thriving and I have really cut down on the product purchases.

It really works for me. :) I have always been a fan of oils so this is going right back to the way in which I started.

Sometime ago I bought some MoroccanOil daily shine/sheen spray and it has ceramides and my hair loves it.

i used wheat germ oil for the first time today.

what i did was...i clarified last night (it'd been a lonnng time since i'd done that)
then i DC'ed with a mixture of nexxus humectress hydrating treatment (the one in the jar), avocado oil and a little jamaican castor oil...sat under the dryer for about half an hour or so and then dc'ed with it overnight

then today i added some of the WGO to my hair before rinsing everything out...left it on for about 2 hours and just rinsed. i literally just got out of the shower.

i cant even begin to tell you how good my hair feels right now. hopefully the goodness will last even after it dries.

i might try adding it to a spritz or sealing with it...hmmm

i had a major set back this year - and wheat germ oil, olive oil, and every other week, hemp seed oil added to my dc is what bought my hair back to life and now has it on the mend. wouldnt be without this trio in my house.
