Hairveda deep conditoner;
forgot the official name. But i loved it back in the day. Now i see a similarity with one of the regular conditioners. It left my hair feeling the exact same way even without heat so i trashed the dc and kept the regular conditioner. cheaper too

AO honey suckle cond;
i just have no use for it now. I was on an organic phase when i started

Motions CPR;
didnt realize how much i didnt like this product until i bought 15 other protein treatments

Aphogee 2 min- I left that for Joico K-pak

AOHSR- I left it for Joico Moisture Treatment Balm

HEHH- I left it for Joico Moisture Recovery conditioner

Do you see a pattern here? :)

I have recently picked up Joico MTB and MR Shampoo. I can't wait to try them this weekend. :)

My cheapie co-wash condish- White Rain Tropical Coconut. I used to use this almost daily when I co-washed. Now, I don't even use it to detangle...

Oh and Garnier Fructis: That Curl and Shine...Yeah I haven't used that in years and I used to use it like everyday.

I used to be on that GF Curl & Shine during my transition but not anymore.

Yes, I abandoned Motions CPR but loved it when I was relaxed.

Good thread.

My staple moisturizer used to be Mizani Coconut Souffle. I stopped using it because I decided to go cone-less. My hair definitely feels better now.

My cheapie Vo5. I was co washing crazy with it, now I feel my hair doesn't like it as much. It just doesn't feel right anymore to me.

KCCC  I still love the smell and the way my hair looks when using it but I probably won't repurchase because I find I like cream stylers better than gel stylers. I'll still buy the KCKT though.

Suave coconut conditioner, I don't know why I kept buying it for months when I don't really care for the smell, sometimes I'm a lil slow :giggle:

coconut oil. when i was relaxed and transitioning i loved that stuff, used it everyday. now that im natural i love evoo so my jar of coconut oil is just sitting there. ill use this jar up but i dont think ill repurchase.

ORS replenishing conditioner. man i loved that stuff. i still have a few pack i need to re visit. i used to use this stuff as a pre poo and my hair loved it. i may use it as a pre poo this weekend and see if i still love it. its been at least a year since the last time i used it.

carols daughter tui shampoo. this is the most moisturizing shampoo ive ever used. i loved this stuff but have since moved on to aphogee shampoo for damaged hair.

AO HSR- Still love it, but I use a lot of conditioner and the bottle is wayyy too small for the $$ (I replaced it with Silicon Mix  )

HE LTR- I loved this leave-in when I was air drying every week for 7 months, but now I'm roller setting each week and I use Lacio Lacio.

Re: What product were you wild about in the past that you have since abandoned, and w

VO5 Moisture Milks - It was my go-to cheapie conditioner. Since discovering HE HH and Suave's Almond and Shea Butter, I'll never look back.

Avocado oil - It's a good oil. But, now I'm "meh" about it. I'd rather use EVOO, which is lighter.

Wild growth hair oil used to be a staple...made my hair so so soft...since then I replaced it with JBCO because I got the same results but the JBCO has thickening properties

Pre-LHCF and kinda OT: Not really prod related but my biggest thing was that I use to LOVE wrapping my hair and having my hair bones straight...of course, no more!!!

Prod related, post-LHCF:
Cheapie conditioners that require a bunch of mixing to make them work. I finally woke up and realized that I'm not really saving any money by going this route with having to mix in a bunch of oils to make it work better. I'm now about quality conditioners.

Salerm 21 leave-in I loved it at one point...now it's whatever

Giovanni direct I LOVED this stuff...it's whatever but I'm thinking of repurchasing just to make sure

ORS packs good at first but just suck to me now if I dc I'm going to need the moisture to last more than 24 hours

henna it was love at first but now my hair is ROUGH in the 2-3 inches of ends that have met the wrath of henna

coconut oil like it but makes my hair hard now

Aphogee 2 step: I don't like sitting under the hooded dryer. So I just stick with the Aphogee 2min instead.

Suave Coconut Conditioner after awhile it starting making my scalp itch.

Mizani Moisturefuse too expensive to apply like a relaxer.

Alter ego garlic conditioner because I had to order it online plus its expensive. (OK this was my favorite conditioner and Imma have to squeeze it back in my budget)

Oyin Handmade products. The shipping killed it for me.

Shea Butter. I used to order that stuff by the 5lbs. It's actually too waxy for my hair, and shea butter breaks me out.

Qhemet Biologics. :look: My hair is too finicky to use these products any more. The moisturizer just seems to sit on top of my hair. It does not absorb any more, no matter how much I clarify or if I apply it on wet or dry hair. I'm kind of depressed about that.

Tresemme Moisture Rich, V05, and Suave conditioners. I discovered Giovanni 50/50 Conditioner, and I fell in love. I know it costs more and all I'm doing is detangling my hair, but the Giovanni cuts my detangling time in half. Plus I never get that weird feeling like I do with the other conditioners (like something is still in my hair; I also don't get the build-up on my scalp).

Olive Oil. Coconut is much better IMO.

Aphogee Keratin 2 Minute Conditioner, Lustrasilk Shea Butter Cholesterol, Queen Helene Cholesterol, etc. I no longer deep condition my hair. Plus, these products didn't really *wow* me as much as I thought they did.

JBCO. It didn't work for me. Great at softening my edges though, but I never saw any growth or thickness.

MTG. I don't have anything against it, it just wasn't necessary. Now I realize that as long as I eat a good diet and stick to my routine and protect my ends, I don't need any topical growth aids.

Queen Helene's Cholesterol Cream. Got real tired of the jar container & it started feeling like it was leaving product build-up.

I've pretty much abandoned KCCC because I don't really do wash n go's anymore.

I also used to love that Olive Oil Sheen Spray, I forget the brand name.

@sipp100 why don't you use your bone comb? I was planning on buying one....

Nix08

When I comb my hair in the shower, I use a Jilbere or Tangle Teezer. I never dry-comb, so the bone comb is just sitting there - unused. The PJ in me made me buy it.

Unrefined shea butter. It was my go to. I used to use it years ago on my twist outs. But now that I'm natural again and there are so many more options out there, that tub of butter is now collecting dust.

Mine too! But I actually use it on my body now. It's great for the skin. :yep:

Silicon Mix used to be my to die for DC...but it isn't moisturizing enough for me anymore...maybe it's because I am so many weeks post.

@Roux Do you skip sealing your hair when you moisturize? What kind of moisturizer do you use?

MaxJones pretty much back in the day I was all about sealing and then I just stopped. More recently I have been using cantu shea butter leave in which is pretty oil rich so I guess that counts but for the most part I don't seal anymore. I do want to experiment with some new oils and butters so I plan on going back but stopping was detrimental to my hair's health.

Cantu shea butter shampoo & leave in...

Shampoo made my scalp itch
Leave In was too much protein causing and overload
Along with a honey & mayo jar hair dressing I was using
Back in 06 before I joined
