I jumped on the Quick Weave Wagon....

Ok, I just got tired of that dang bun. I really didn't want to do much to my own hair, so I decided to give the Quick Weave thing another try. I tried before and actually purchased a human hair half-wig but didn't like it at all.

So today I was thinking of qetting a weave and after calling around for prices.....I was like by the time I get the hair and pay them to install it, it's gonna be a good $200 and with my son's 14th birthday in couple of days, that just won't work. So I bought the Outre "Jean".....1B/30 and it's synthetic...(didn't wanna waste more on hh and not like it)...for 21.99 and here are the results....I am pretty pleased. I actually think my version is better than the models

It looks good! When I'm not in weaves or inbetween hairstyles I wear them. I have one on in my siggy. Before I found LHCF I used to go get my hair relaxed and get a wrap. Then I'd wear the half wig everyday for a month or so and then I throw it out and buy a new one. I used to wear strictly human hair half wigs but I switched to synthetic. They serve the same purpose and I don't have to worry about recurling hair, curls falling, etc. The human hair ones also get that weave poof thing going on after while and they thin out from shedding too.

Me too I use to use the Human Hair. But over a year ago started using synthetic and it just holds the style better. Human hair after awhile gets dull looking even with washing. Plus I get if for 14.99 with my military discount at my local BSS for the Freetress brand.

ITA. And the synthetic ones are cheaper. I usually pay 19.99 and some of them double as phony ponies too.

That looks really pretty. I prefer the synthetic ones bc when you are done with them (2 weeks-a month later) you can toss it and not feel bad. Its less than you would have spent on getting your hair done!

I have one too, but I'm starting to be concerned that if I continue to wear it everyday, the teeth in the half wig might start to wear away my hair from where I place it. Can this happen? I can't afford any more bald spots.:perplexed

thanks ladies....this style is a life saver.........I put cornrows in my hair underneath and i plan on spray a mix of S-Curl and IC leave-in on my hair for a week and then do my regular regime and continue again with the quick weave. I think i am gonna get a duplicate of this one and try another, just to have a back up if this one gets raggedy.........

I really like it. It looks cute on you. I bought Sophia Girl by Fretress. The picture of the hair looks horrible but in person its similar to what you are wearing. I see it pays to go to you local BSS to get a up close view of what the hair looks like. I paid 19.99 and I have gotten my money' s worth 10 times over!!!!!:p

Call me ignorant, but what's the difference btw a quick weave and a half-wig?

They're the same thing. So is a fall. Outre just calls their brand a Quick Weave. Sensationnel calls their's an Instant Weave, etc...

Ladies

I just jumped on this wagon too....i love them.

Its like the best of both worlds. I can grow and look after my natural hair and in the mean time switch up the way i look - even if its just at the weekends or going out for the evening....i was just tired out of going out to dinner/bar/party in my 5 inch twists whilst everyone else looked glammed up :look:

I'm interested in how you make an instant weave into a phoney pony, bmoreflyygirl i think you have done this - any tips? And your styles gave me the final push to go purchase one :)

Sure np. I'm glad I could be of some help. :) I'm wearing one today but I'm getting my hair straightened this evening so I'll probably be switching to a bone straight style for the next 2 or 3 weeks. The one I bought was made to do that. It had a drawstring in it. It should tell you on the package though. I know more than one brand makes them.

congrats, looks nice on you. I have a small collection of these and I love them because my hair is never manipulated underneath and gets a chance to actually "grow" longer.

That's really cute! Do all quick weaves attach with a comb? When you use the comb attachment, what exactly do you do if you can't cornrow?

I really like it and it looks really cute on you. I have the same one and fell in love with it the minute I bought it. I love wearing the half wigs for protective styles because I am taking care of my hair, while wearing someone else hair, but its mine because I bought it.

Thanks so much for the link! Looks easy enough, but the comb in the back kinda scares me, my nape is my big problem area. :(

I have problems with my nape also. My nape is shorter than all the rest of my hair. Whenever I wear half wig hair pieces like this I make sure I moisturize more in the area where the comb pieces are and I remove the hair piece every night.

try cutting the comb out, there is an adjustable band lining the cap so you can adjust it without using the comb.
