Healthy Scalp???

Hey Ladies, what are some good suggestions to obtain a healthy scalp? I tend to have a dry flaky scalp and it can be sore and itch like crazy. However, washing it more than every two weeks isn't very possible for me right now. So i need suggestions for a healthy moisturized scalp.

I'd try in no particular order:
Tea Rinses or Tea Spritz that could help cleanse your scalp.
Tea Tree, Jojoba, Eucalyptus, Rosemary or Peppermint Oil (and others) that promote Healthy Scalp
Incorporate some type of Clay or Detoxification mixture into your Wash Days to draw out impurities.
ACV Rinse

ETA: You might have dermatitis. There are some over the counter 'Poos that can help alleviate that, but make sure you condition extensively because they can be very drying.

Since incorporating clay washes and moisturizing conditioners last year, I haven't seen a flake. Before then, my scalp flaked all the time. I also WnG frequently.

@LiftedUp I take a multivitamin. I can't try a hair skin and nail vitamin until I'm done breastfeeding. I will incorporate a safe fish oil though thank you. I didn't think about that.

@LadyAmani

There are a variety of Clays. Bentonite, Rhassoul, Pink Moroccan, etc.....

Not familiar with Mud washes, but they might have some of the same cleansing and exfoliating properties and the ability to draw out impurities.

A good tea Spritz should help with the itches and might be very healing.

AVG or AVJ might help as well.

However, an over the counter shampoo for dermatitis will give you immediate relief from the flaking/itching/soreness like Nizoral or something like that.

Again, if you choose to use it, make sure you condition, condition, condition.

I used to have scalp issues, but when I went gluten free (it's been 3.5 years now) my scalp stop being an issue (it's just been clean, clear and healthy). I think a healthy scalp starts from the inside out.

I totally agree. I decided besides my oatmeal (I take it to help maintain milk supply). I'm going to cut down on heavy carbs, and focus on more greens. Just to have a better diet over all.

@LadyAmani did you wash the hair before installing?
What products do you use?
Does your scalp feel better or worse after wash day?
No, I did not. I usually don't and never had an issue before. I'm might have to noe just to be safe.
I only mist with rose water and oil blend. I also apply castor oil to my scalp 3x a week.
My scalp usually feels better after I wash. However, it hasn't felt much better lately.

It's worth considering just to be on the safe side. Until your flare up is over you might want to think about taking those out. Your products don't sound like they would raise any allergic reactions.I would suggest using hypoallergenic cleansers. Mud washes or Aqueous Cream to wash your hair. If you've been prescribed any steroid creams or ointments for your eczema, you could use that on your flareups too. Finally I'd consider and antihistamine and some Vaseline (only because it's hypoallergenic) on your scalp. But like @nothidden said you'd be best seeing a dermatologist before anything.

Steaming, even if you don't put anything on your scalp. It's been the easiest, most cost effective way for me to treat the flaky scalp I used to have.
