Favorite Clarifying Shampoo And How Often Do You Clarify??

I'd like to add one thing to this thread. I do not think clarifying is good for our hair at all. When done correctly it strips our hair to the bone and allows us to start with a clean slate as someone else here said... I have very hard water and I use lots of products on my hair so I DO clarify at least once every two months. That being said... I can't help but feel some kind of way everytime I'm rubbing my hands together getting ready to put that stripping shampoo on my hair. It's like I can hear something in the back of my mind whispering.. Don't do it... Don't do it... Don't do it Angel... (my name, lol)... Anywho, I do it anyway but I feel it's bad for my hair To do it at all at anytime for any reason.

I have a few that I use and I enjoy all my of them.

I have:

Elucence Volumizing Shampoo
Elucence Acidifying Shampoo
Redken Hair Cleansing Cream
Keracare 1st Lather Shampoo

It's important for me to follow every clarifying session with a moisturizing shampoo, then deep moisture conditioning as these clarifying shampoos leave my hair squeaky clean. Oil can be added to the moisture shampoo as well to soften the hair further.

Malibu C Un-do-goo and follow up with Diva Curl Decadence No Poo every week or every other week. REDKEN cleansing cream use to be my absolute favorite.

As I Am Cleansing Pudding is the closest thing I would probably use for deeper cleansing.

I also use V05 Kiwi & Lime Clarifying Conditioner on occasion.

No real set schedule. Whenever I feel my Hair needs it.

Cosigning the AIA!

I have super hard water so have to use the Aubrey Organics Swimmers Shampoo once a month. It gets both chelating and clarifying done in one swoop.

1-2x a month.

Another vote for AO Swimmers Shampoo. I have very hard water. I use that shampoo diluted with conditionee and water, once every couple months (or more when doing MHM). I never use it by itself because it is so drying.

I know ACV breaks down Oil, but it doesn’t remove. Just like if you wanna make a cleaner, you use ACV and some dish soap. The soap is still needed.. I could see using ACV if you have buildup (braids, sew-ins, twists) and use like a clay, or some other cleansing agent.

^^That's what I found as well when I researched. I wasn't convinced that it was as effective as what I was looking for.
