Unexpected Side Effect Of Cancer/chemo???

OK... so my hair is starting to grow back. Before cancer/chemo/hair falling out, my hair was 4a/4b. This new stuff that is growing in now is about 3a/3b. I have no idea what to do with this mess! I am hoping that I will get some of my natural texture back as my hair grows out... but, I don't know...

Any ideas or help on how to handle a new texture?

My grandma had maybe 2b/3a type hair before chemo and after chemo her hair grew back straight. I don't think her waves returned. But congrats on beating cancer.

People also call it Chemo curls as there are people who once had stick straight hair and it grew back curly after treatment.

Same happened to my gf. She is 10 years post chemo, still 3a/3b.

I say accept the new texture and love it. Look at it as a symbol of a new beginning.

I have had a handful of friends/acquaintances who finished chemo and all of their texture changed.. "Wacky" indeed! BUT... GO YOU!!!!! For finishing Chemo!!!! Great things are in store, I'm sure for you!!! This is AWESOME NEWS!!!!!

Congratulations on beating cancer! The exact same thing happened to my sister. Pre cancer her hair was similar to mine, now she's in the 3b/3a club. I'm 4c if you hair type.

She just ups her protein and mainly finger detangles and does wash n gos.

Ok... I was just learning how to take care of my 4a/b hair, now I have to relearn it for a new texture...

One thing everyone keeps telling me is DO NOT put a relaxer on the new hair!!!!
