Standup/rolling Hair Steamers?

I want to purchase a stand up hair steamer, but the reviews on Amazon vary greatly and none really have great overall ratings. I'm not sure if this just comes with the territory so what standup steamers do you ladies own and how do you like them? I'm looking to purchase one tomorrow. Thank you!

I have two standup hair steamers 1) the LCL Dual strength and ) one I purchased from Sam's Club and recommend both.

I have one that looks like that LCL Dual strength steamer. The reviews weren't the best when I was looking also but for the price, I paid around $90, I was willing to take my chances. I've had it since the beginning of 2016 with no issues.

I have the LCL steamer. I just DCed with it yesterday for the first time in 2 years. I've had it since 2015 and I only used it once! I was surprised it still worked after 2 years. I really like it and it feels so luxurious being under it. What I don't like is that it starts to drip water intermittently after about 20 minutes and because it is pretty big and bulky, its not easy to store. I also lost the water bottle that catches the water waste and I don't see it on their website to reorder.

My mother got me the "SkinAct Hair Steamer with Timer" from Amazon. I have been loving it!

Thank you!!!! I've been eyeing that one. I was all set on the LCL one, but they don't ship to Hawaii. Hopefully I won't have the same problem with the SkinAct. Does it cover your head completely?

I was just telling my husband I have had three steamers in my life and they were all pretty flimsy. Now don't get me wrong they got the job done and they held up for a bit, but I would have to do stuff like put duct tape on the little plastic cup that catches water. I would have to be gentle when replacing the water cuz the bucket felt cheaply made.

My cheap one drips. I'm going high end next time. Keller makes an expensive one with excellent reviews. The YouTube review convinced me. I found one under $200, thankfully.

Yes. It covers my whole head.

One note. When I first used it I wanted to adjust the tilt of the hood and (maybe I missed some detail.... #Idontreadinstructions :giggle:

) was about to break out the tool set to do so. Happily I mentioned it to my mother and she told me to just tilt it. I feel like I tried that before and it didn't move; maybe I didn't push/pull as hard as I thought I did. Since I learned the big "secret" I haven't had an issue adjusting it as necessary, but it's not loose either.

I just wanted to warn you about that in case you ran into the same thing! One other "warning" is that the instructions are minimal. Assembly was pretty intuitive. They give some info, but not every detail. If you get it and have a question about assembly, feel free to inbox me!

I just bought the SkinAct Steamer on Amazon today. I'm about to step up my regimen. I hope I'm not disappointed. It was only $88. I remember years ago everyone was buying the SalonRUs one (now LCL, from what I gathered in my research). But that one is sitting somewhere with my mother in law in another state.

I have the LCL which looks, amazingly enough, just like the SkinAct steamer. It cost about the same too back when I bought it around 2012. It's still going strong and I use it every other week.
