Full Name: Clairol Herbal Essence Intensive Conditioning Balm
I've had this item in my cabinet for at least a year and used only while my hair was braided so couldn't really judge its effects. Well, I tried it this weekend in and effort use up stuff I already have without buying anything new. I used as a conditioner wash and it left my hair really really dry, I mean dry like I've never experienced with ANY conditioner, even the really cheap .99 cent deals. I did my usual CW routine: condition washed with the balm, towel dried and applied giovanni direct, rollerset and hood dry. My hair IS bouncy and light, but is not nearly as moisturized as it usually is when I use other conditioners (suave coconut and milk&honey leaves my 4b relaxed hair much much more moisturized then this balm, which cost about $2.00 more). I WILL NOT use this again. Period.
On a scale of 1 to 10, I rate this a 1 (it really sucks, my hair is so dry can't wait to deep condition during my next wash) I'd hate to see how this product would perform after 'pooing, yikes! I mean I only CW and followed with a creamy leave-in and THIS much dryness is ridiculous . . .
