4c Hair Wants To Start To Henna

I have very short 4c hair which is black. I have heard of the benefits of henna, im primarily interested in the strengthening effects of it, but I don't want to dye my hair red, I want to keep it black. I've done a little research and it seems that i have to add indigo to it so that my hair stays black, but it seems that it still might change the colour of my hair which I don't want. The other option it seems that I have is using cassia but it seems that it isn't as strengthening as henna. Could someone point me in the right direction

Henna and indigo left my 4c hair feeling like straw and brillo pads. Even after tons of moisture treatment my hair never felt quite the same as before.

Good luck to you.

Indigo will work but it's so drying I don't use it when I henna. If you go the indigo route you may want to plan an overnight DC and just DC everyday until your hair returns to how you like it.

Your mix should consist of Less Henna. More Indigo. (to achieve that look).

Or do the 2 Step Process. Henna first. Then Indigo.

You need the Henna stain for the Indigo to attach itself or your Hair will be Blue/Green if you used Indigo alone.

And I agree. Moisturize, Moisturize, Mosturize! And then Moisturize some more.
