Ok ladies I just wanted to know is there anything that you can use to strip a permanent-color.. or reverse it back to what it was b4 u colored it?

and how long should one wait b4 touching up a perm-color or re-applying a new permanent color?

I NEED ANY INFO ON THE SUBJECT...

Need more detail! Did you lighten your hair or darken it? Was it a perm. or demi-perm. color? Have you washed it yet?

There are solutions, but we need more info!

i lightened it with T&T coco brown... but then used dark & lovely because the BSS was closed and i went to rite-aid and they didnt have T&T coco brown.. so now my hair color is a color that does not look good w/ my complexion... and i have alotta of engagements coming up so i need to rectify the situation ASAP...

so i am trying to get back to that coco brown..

all color used was permanent...

i need to know is there anything that can strip that color i just used... i applied the color last night but i want try and fix it ASAP

i also wanted to know how long do i need to wait btwn coloring?

thanks ladies for anyyyyyyyyy info.. i need help and dont really have the time to hit the salon since my schedule is packedddddd

There are ways to strip it, but they can be harsh. You could take a trip to the BSS, where they actually have color removing shampoos, or you could use liquid fabric soap (like Tide WITHOUT bleach) diluted about 3x. You'll need to wash multiple times, and deep cond. like crazy afterwards. Lemon juice also will fade color, but it sounds like you want this stuff out ASAP.

The safest way is to use the color removing treatments they sell at BSSs. DO NOT recolor with permanent color. I would use a temp. color only to get back to the color you want, esp. if you are relaxed!

Good luck!

wrong tone...

i just need to get back to light-brown...which was the color i had b4 i applied the color last night which was suppose to be the same color but it turned my hair a red-burgundy color which i hate...

so i am trying to reverse the process that i did last night via stripping/removing that burgundy color to get it back to the light-brown...

ok any brands in regard to the color removing shampoos/ products?

I don't remember what the brand was...maybe Roux? But ask at the BSS and they'll know. They usually only carry only 1 or 2.

What color were you trying to get when you colored your hair with the dark and lovely? You were trying to go from light brown to what color?

Or you mean that you were trying to get the light brown color you always get with t&T, but used dark and lovely because you couldn't find T&T?

EXACTLY....

Hmmm... what a sucky predicament.

Clairol makes color removers called uncolor. I've heard that the one for permanent color is stripping and can possibly weaken the hair.

I was thinking that instead of possibly harming your hair with permanent color remover (contains peroxide), you could use a light to medium brown semi-permanent color that takes out the red tones. At least to give your hair a break from coloring.

Also.. soaps/shampoos will not likely take out a permanent color. They may make it less vibrant, but it's not getting out of there comepletely by such means. That type of thing works with semi-permanents.

I'll shut up now....

Do you live in a city with a color specialist? It sounds like you could use a professional..........

I DO .....BUT THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO TIME FOR ME TO GO THIS WEEK AND THE LAST APPT. IS AT 6..I CALLED AND CHECKED WITH ELIN LAVAR AND SOME OTHERS AND THEY ARE ON STRICT APPT'S SINCE ITS THE HOLIDAYS...PLUS MY SCHEDULE IS SO JAM PACKED- I WILL BE IN AND OUT OF TOWN....BUT ITS OK.. I WILL FIG SOMETHING OUT.. SOON

You've already used so much color. Please be careful!!! I lost a lot of hair trying to correct a color last year. Try using a semi-permanent color until you can get to a professional to strip the color. A semi-permanent color/ rinse will attach to your hair prefectly since you've already colored it. Try ADORE. Their rinses look great and last for quite a bit of shampoos --- something like Sienna Brown. HTH.

i def will next time... now i know...LESSON LEARNED!

the thing is i have never had a problem.. i always use T&T coco brown on my hair and eyebrows... but i guess this is what happens when your doing to much... i need to time out myself from my hair for a bit....

This VERY EXACT THING happened to me. But, I used a rinse over my light brown highlighted hair and I came out of the shower looking like BREE from Desparate Housewives. I used Suave Clarifying poo about 7 times straight and it stripped the red out completely and left me with the original color. But, it was semi-perm color I was stripping out. :ohwell:

Hi sorry to hear about your dilemma. I would try the uncolor and see how that fares, then do a hot oil treatment using warmed olive oil and a plastic cap for about an hour or overnight, then do a moisturizing deep conditioning. The red tones should fade. Then I would go and get Sebastian's Colourshines in a tone that matches the original color you wanted, I don't know what effect the T&T Coco Brown gives you, but I'd try neutral brown.
