Could you make a LACE FRONT?

Ok the ladies of LHCF have never failed me yet.....is it possible to make your own LACE FRONT wig?

I've not seen a lace front up close, but from web photos it seems to be a WIG with a thin (invisible) base and the FRONT HAIRLINE seems to set this wig apart from any other. So my question is could we make our own lacefront. .Lace front wearer, please let me know......if:

.....we have the same (base) material (what exact is the base made of?)

.....could attach weave hair thru the base (so it looks like it is growing out of base vs. laying on top like a regular weave (with a needle or hook)

......Using wig head to shape it and all of the supplies including the human hair would be much CHEAPER than the prices I see posted.

I'm just kidding myself or has anybody else thought about this?

LOL, i WISH it was that easy.

The hair being pulled through the lace is what makes it look realistic. Especially when its parted or when the wind blows. It looks like the hair is coming out of your scalp ;)

Someone out there might stone me for this but here is a link on how they add the baby hairs :sekret:

Thanks atlien11!

I guess I'm having a hard time picturing the construction of a lace front. I watch the video of the girl putting her on, and was surprised about how real it looked after it was glued down.

What is the base make out of? Why doesn't it show on your forehead?
