Curling Irons : marcel VS Spring

Hey Ladies

I'm looking to invest in a curling iron but I just wanted to know if prefer to use a marcel curling iron or a spring curling iron.

I've heard that the marcel one works better and offers more versatility, but the spring one is easiar to use when doing ones own hair at home.

Here are some examples

Spring Iron ( usually this is what most of us have at home)

Marcel Iron ( usually used by stylists)

And here is a video of a girl using a marcel curling iron

Here is a description I found

There are 2 types of handles for Curling Irons: [FONT=arial, helvetica]Spring Type - means that you will use your thumb to open the iron, and a spring will close the iron. Spring type irons are normally found in the home.
Marcel Type - means that your hand will close and open the iron. There is no spring to cause the iron to close. Your hand controls the pressure on the hair. Marcel irons are used by professionals in a Salon since it is more versatile when working with the hair. (handle can rotate

I would like to use the marcel Has anyone used it before, reviews please

so you prefer the spring handles opposed to the marcel ones?

And which one gave you better curls or was easiar to use, and was the marcel easy to adapt to?

THAnk you :)

I have the electric ceramic marcel iron the girl is using in the video. It's the same iron you have pictured in the link, but with a purple ceramic coating. I find that my curls last longer with the marcel irons. You can "bump them" sort of circulating the heat around the curl for a better hold (as loose or tight as you want...and it's lasts). I hope that made sense :look:. Get your practice on though,it's easier to burn your self by dropping them. I actually just gave all my spring irons away to my cousins since I never use them; marcels are my preference!

So I bought the hot tools one from hairsisters, and I like how you can glide through your hair and make curls, and its easier to handle once you get the hand of it. Ahhh in love lol. and the curls last super long too
