suppose to do with it besides using it to make a mixing medium for pigment. I purchased some yesterday from my favorite BSS. I guess I can with in my BT/MTG mixture and keep it moving. SO how do you ladies use your glycerine? Any tips and hair recipes, please?

You can add it to conditioners and lotions

I make a moisturizing spray similar to s-curl. I use vegetable glycerine and aloe vera juice and peppermint oil. About 1/8 of the mixture is vegetable glycerine and I add about 10 drops of peppermint oil.

If you don't have aloe vera juice you can just use water.:)

I have used it on my face before as a part of a facial. I put some on cleansed skin and steam my face with the glycerine on it. I then rinse it off and moisturize. I didn't really notice much of a difference. My skin felt soft but I can't say it was from the glycerine. It was just really fun to do:lol:

Your grandma probably didn't worry about collagen treatments or the right antioxidant serums for her skin type, but she may very well have had glycerin in her medicine cabinet. So what's behind this impressive longevity in a field that's constantly evolving?
Simply put, glycerin is an ingredient that closely resembles your skin's natural moisturizing factor, or NMF. The naturally occurring chemicals of the NMF can absorb large amounts of water, even in low humidity environments. Glycerin, a humectant and an emollient, mimics that super-hydrating effect while smoothing your skin. For a vocabulary refresher, check out my last entry.
Not only does glycerin quickly hydrate your skin, there is also evidence to suggest that it increases your skin barrier's ability to hold moisture. In other words, glycerin can actually make your skin more resistant to future drying, more than almost any other ingredient!
So where can you find this wonder moisturizer? Many creams, lotions, and even soaps contain glycerin, and there's an option for every skin type and budget.
Wishing you great skin!
