How do you bump your hair with a flat-iron

I can get my hair straight and feather light with my flat-iron, however I have trouble getting the little "bump" on the ends. Does anyone have a good tutorial or know of a good tutorial that shows how to bump the ends without getting the hard bend in them?

TIA

:hiya:

I don't usually flat iron my ends. I usually start with a rollerset, flat iron my roots and wrap my hair. So then I have body and the "bump" at the end.

I think you can also use pin curls to achieve a "bump".

I'm sure others will chime in

hth!!

You have to start turning your wrist to bump your hair when the flatiron is closer to the base of your head.

Try searching salon cabelo and/or ajannasmom on youtube. Look for their flatiron tutorials. If those don't work their should be plenty of related vids to choose from.

It took me forever to learn the technique but what helps me if I actually start turning my wrist about half a inch from the roots not turning at the ends. This way im not simply bumping the ends but actually bumping the entire section of hair. Makes for a lot of body too.
Also make sure your flat iron has beveled / curved plates. I originally had the sedu but the edges werent curved so I frequently ended up with the dreaded "bump dent"
My new flat iron that I absolutely ADORE is called the hair art 3000. There are some reviews on youtube.
This flat iron gets my natural 4a/b hair SILKY STRAIGHT and SHINY! The edges are curved to. It takes all the guessing out. I havent had the "bend" since using these.
